For kids especially being outside invites curiosity and play. When they’re busy exploring, picking flowers, running around, or showing you something they’ve found, they’re not thinking about the camera anymore. They’re focused on the moment, and that’s when their true personality comes through. Even children who start off shy often relax much quicker outside because it feels familiar and low-pressure and that's why I love photographing little ones outside.

Does anyone else feel like Fresh air works as abit of a reset button? I love to be outside and I absolutley adore photographing families outside!

The moment you step outside, things tend to soften. There’s less pressure, more space, and a natural shift away from “performing” to just being. And that’s exactly where authentic connection comes from.

Outdoors, you’re not confined or being watched in the same way you might feel indoors. There’s no expectation to sit still or behave a certain way. Instead, families move, talk, laugh, and interact naturally and those real interactions are what create beautifully meaningful photos.

Why is Spring such a great time for photos?

Its started to warm up, there's beautiful flowers everywhere and lots of things to explore. I'm all about the fun in my sessions and that includes the grown ups too! So expect plenty of been silly and playing when you come to get photographed by me.

This year I'm doing some fundraising for the North Rigton village gardens, which is such a beautiful space for families to enjoy from North Rigton and surrounding areas and as I live just around the corner it's close to my heart.

I'll be photographing at their Summer Gala on the 20th of June, each slot is £20 with one digital image included with all of the session fee been donated to the up keep and maintainence of the gardens. The sessions can be for familes, couples of even your furry friends.
