Yesterday morning I saw this little guy in the car park, haven't ever seen one before. This is a Cinnabar Moth πŸ–€β€οΈ unlike most moths, it is active during the day. It's bold colours indicate to predators that they are poisonous as they consume ragwort during the early stages of growth before they pupate ☠️

The sun peeks through the dense, lush leaves of lovely old trees, creating the blue ring of light the camera has picked up. A spiders web is perfectly delicate wound round a thin branch πŸ’™ πŸ•ΈοΈβ˜€οΈπŸŒ³

Love this little guy, a Monk Skipper - a butterfly often found in Florida. Very cute and very happy to sit and be photographed πŸ–€ I think I'll use him as inspiration for a design in my upcoming project πŸ€“

πŸ’ Discovered a new type of cherry tree today, these are Surinam cherries πŸ’ the fruits flavour profile changes dramatically as it ripens. Orange/bright red: these are under ripe and very tart. Deep crimson/maroon: these are ripe, they taste sweet and tangy. The cherry is edible but the seeds are toxic ⚠️

πŸ’š Gorgeous, lush green leaves with a beautifully contrasting dark wood 🀎 perfect combo. Not 100% sure but these may be West Indian Mahogany trees. During major hurricanes, while other trees might snap or uproot, Mahoganies have a "breathable" canopy that lets wind pass through, and their deep roots help them stand firm against coastal gusts.

A perfect pair of Pheasants
The Male: He is a riot of colorβ€”iridescent green/blue head, red wattles (the fleshy bits around the eyes), and bold copper plumage. His job is to be seen and heard to attract mates and defend his territory.
The Female: She is a master of camouflage. Her mottled brown and buff feathers allow her to "disappear" into the tall grass or woodland floor while she is nesting.

While they look heavy and prefer to walk or run, pheasants are surprisingly athletic. If you had startled them, they would have performed a "flush"β€”a near-vertical takeoff with a loud, rhythmic beating of wings. They can reach flight speeds of up to 38–48 mph (60–77 km/h) in a sprint!
