Meet Barney. 🤎

A gorgeous Working Cocker Spaniel who looks as though he has decided this rather magnificent chair was put there specifically for him.

And, judging by that expression, I wasn't about to argue. 😂

One of the things I love about photographing Cockers is those wonderfully expressive faces — there is always *something* going on behind the eyes.

Barney certainly brought plenty of personality with him. 🐾

Meet Eevie. ❤️

Eevie is a beautiful rescue Italian Greyhound who happens to have just one ear — and I think it gives her the most wonderful, unmistakable character.

Portraits like this are exactly why I always say **personality over perfection**.

The little things that make our dogs different are so often the very things we love most about them.

And Eevie is completely and wonderfully Eevie. 🐾

This is Vincent, a gorgeous German Shorthaired Pointer, sitting right where he clearly wants to be — beside Dad.

No elaborate pose needed. Just that look.

Sometimes the simplest photographs say an awful lot. 🐾

DOGS WANTED 🐾

Personality over perfection. Every time.

Big dogs. Small dogs. Old dogs. Young dogs.

Well behaved dogs... and dogs who decide the tiny yellow sofa is obviously theirs. 😂

The thing I hear more than anything is:

“Please try and capture his personality.”

I’m looking for dogs of all ages, breeds and personalities to visit my Gloucester studio for a relaxed photography experience.

Your session is completely complimentary and, as a thank you for taking part, you’ll also receive a beautiful 10-inch matted portrait of your dog.

Meet Monty. 🖤

Monty is a gorgeous 5-month-old Flat-Coated Retriever — all legs, floppy ears and that wonderfully inquisitive puppy expression.

At this age they're growing almost by the day, but there are still those unmistakable puppy features that won't be around forever.

And that little head tilt... absolutely perfect. 🐾

Meet Monaco. 🐩

Just 10 months old and already looking every inch the professional model.

There is something wonderfully elegant about a Poodle — although putting Monaco on a set of vintage weighing scales did rather raise an important question...

How many Poodles to the pound? 😂

She was an absolute little star in the studio. 🐾

Meet Minnie. 🌸

Minnie is a gorgeous 7-year-old Old Tyme Bulldog, and she brought rather a lot of character to the studio.

Bulldogs have such wonderfully expressive faces — somehow managing to look serious, thoughtful and slightly unimpressed all at the same time. 😂

Add a floral collar and suddenly Minnie is every inch the distinguished lady. 🐾

Nine weeks old. 🖤

One day Lucio will be a big, handsome Labrador and it will seem almost impossible that he was ever small enough to sit inside this basket.

That's the lovely thing about puppy portraits — they preserve a stage of their life that disappears incredibly quickly.

Little Lucio, exactly as he is right now. 🐾

🎭 Who says pugs are just comedians?

Most people think of pugs as funny, cheeky little clowns...

But every now and then they give you a look like this.

Quiet.
Thoughtful.
Almost cinematic.

It's a reminder that every dog has different sides to their personality, and my favourite portraits are often the ones people never expected.

Sometimes all it takes is the right light and a moment of stillness.

👂 Can we just take a moment to appreciate those ears?!

I'm not entirely convinced this gorgeous White German Shepherd wasn't listening to conversations happening three counties away! 😂

One of the joys of photographing dogs is that every little feature helps tell their story.

Big ears.
Wonky ears.
Floppy ears.
Tiny ears.

Whatever makes your dog uniquely them is exactly what I want to capture.

Because perfection isn't about posing...
