I want to say something plainly: bo***ir is not for a particular age.

It's not just for your 20s and 30s.
It's not "before things change."
It's not a last chance at something.

I've photographed people at 24 who came in to celebrate a milestone.
I've photographed people at 63 who said it was the first time in their lives they'd done something entirely for themselves.
Every single one of them left differently.

If you've been telling yourself "maybe in a few years" or "I should have done this when I was younger", I want you to hear this: the version of you who shows up is the right version.
That has never once been wrong.

The studio exists for a reason. It's controlled, warm, private, contained.

But some people just come alive when they are outside. In open air. In the landscape. In the kind of places that make you feel small in the best possible way.
That's what adventure bo***ir is for.

I take the same approach: guided, not posed, entirely at your pace, and we find a location in Scotland that feels like an extension of who you are.

April through October. A handful of spaces per season.

I've heard every version of "I'll do it when..."

When I've lost the weight. When I feel better about myself. When things have calmed down. When I'm more confident

And I understand it. I genuinely do. The fear of being truly seen, especially like this, is real.

But here's what six years and over 400 photoshoots have shown me: the waiting doesn't make the fear smaller. It just makes the moment further away.

Your body is changing right now. Not as a threat, as a fact. And the version of you that exists today is worth documenting, exactly as you are.

That's what I mean when I say the photographs are proof, not the point.

The point is what happens in the room. What happens when you spend a day just simply being in a space without any judgement, guided without criticism, seen without the filter of everything you've been told to think about yourself.

Jo came to start accepting her body again. What she left with was bigger than that.

I spent most of my teenage years and my early twenties at war with my own body.
Not at odds with it.
At war with it.

Recovery came slowly. Through therapy. Through professional support. Through learning, painfully and gradually, that my body was not the problem.

When that weight lifted, what struck me most wasn't the relief. It was the space. The sheer amount of life that became available when I stopped spending it fighting my own reflection.

I built this studio because I know what that costs. And I know what it feels like when it stops.

Every person who walks through that door arrives carrying some version of what I carried. I don't just take photographs. I hold space for the moment you stop fighting yourself.

That's what this is.
That's what it has always been.
