A stunning North East landmark captured from above as the evening sun dipped towards the horizon.

Have you visited here? Maybe it was your wedding venue, the location of a works Christmas party, a special celebration, or simply somewhere you’ve stayed over the years.

I’d love to hear your memories of this place in the comments.

📍 Bonus points if you can name it before looking at the comments!

Tyneside Cinema, Newcastle

Tucked away in one of Newcastle’s hidden alleys, the iconic Tyneside Cinema has been part of the city’s story since 1937, making it one of the UK’s last surviving purpose-built newsreel cinemas.

Newcastle is full of grand landmarks, but sometimes it’s the quieter corners that tell the most interesting stories.

Have you ever visited the Tyneside Cinema?

What was the last film you saw there, or do you have a favourite memory of this Newcastle institution?

Middleton Grange is always a great venue, and we know how much people in Hartlepool come out to support small independent businesses.

You’ll find a lovely mix of local stall holders, including handmade gifts, sweet treats, arts and crafts, photography, cakes, bakes and more.

North East Captures will be there with a selection of our North East photography prints, gifts and popular local scenes.

Upcoming dates are:

Thursday 4th June
Thursday 2nd July
Thursday 30th July
Saturday 22nd August

Normal Saturday dates will resume in August, but for now we’d love to see plenty of support for these Thursday events.

Some places just stick with you.

It might be the beach you went to as a kid, the street your grandparents lived on, the view from a Sunday walk, or the landmark you always look for when you’re nearly home.

So here’s today’s question:

What place in the North East means the most to you and why?

Not necessarily the most famous place. Not necessarily the prettiest. Just the one that has a story attached to it.

I’ll start with mine in the comments. The images might give it away.

Drop yours below, I’d love to read them and don’t be shy.
