Everyone looks at the baby (and rightly so 😍), but behind every tiny hand and sleepy yawn is a mum giving her whole heart.

One minute I'm carefully capturing precious newborn memories that families will treasure forever... 👶❤️
The next minute, I've got two boys discovering that football shorts can apparently be inflated and worn as emergency flotation devices. 🤦‍♀️🤣
Photography isn't just about perfect poses and pretty pictures.
Sometimes it's about capturing the laughter, the chaos, the ridiculous moments and the memories you'll be talking about for years.
And honestly? Those are often the best ones. ❤️

Sometimes the most important photographs aren't the ones with perfect smiles, matching outfits or everyone looking at the camera.

Sometimes they're the quiet ones.

A big sister holding her little brother.
A gentle cuddle.
A moment that lasted a few seconds but will be remembered for years.

One day they'll both be taller.
One day they'll both be busier.
One day this tiny version of them will only exist in photographs.
That's why we take the photo.

One of my favourite compliments isn't about my camera.
It's not about editing.
It's not even about the photographs.
Today, before a new client had even seen their gallery, they asked:

"When's the next shoot?"

That's when I know I've done my job.
Because photography isn't just about pictures.

It's about creating an experience people enjoy, capturing memories they want to keep, and making sure nobody leaves thinking:

"I never want to do that again."

So thank you.
To every family that comes back.
To every family that recommends me.
And to every family that asks when the next shoot is before I've even finished editing the last one.

One minute they're fitting in your arms.
The next they're standing in the middle of a demolished birthday cake looking like they've just conquered a small country. 🤣💙

Photographs aren't important because they're perfect.

They're important because time isn't.

The cake gets eaten.
The balloons deflate.
The outfit gets packed away.

But one day a mum and dad will scroll back to these photographs and remember exactly how small he was.
That's why we take the photo. 📸💙

🌞 Little life update...
Because I work multiple jobs, juggle a photography business, and seem to survive almost entirely on caffeine and chaos... I've decided I deserve a week in the sun next year. 😎
No phone. No camera. No editing. No emails. No alarms.
Just me, a sun lounger, and the sound of absolutely nobody asking me where anything is. 😂
For one whole week, Donna Buston Photography will be replaced by Donna Buston Horizontal Services Ltd. ☀️🍹
I think I've earned it. ❤️

And somewhere in 20 years' time, that little girl won't remember what the session cost.
She won't remember what camera was used.
She probably won't remember what day it was.
But she'll remember that smile.
And she'll be very glad somebody took the photo. ❤️🥹📸
