And just like that… the school bag is packed, the uniform is ready and a wonderful new chapter is beginning 🎒✨

Today, little hands will be holding tightly to grown-up ones.

Children will be walking through new doors feeling excited, curious, proud—and perhaps carrying a few butterflies too.

For their families, it’s one of those extraordinary moments when they suddenly look so grown-up… while still being completely and unmistakably your little one.

This is exactly why our Reception Ready Portrait Experience has such a special place in my heart. It celebrates more than a new uniform. It celebrates their personality, their pride and the brilliant child setting off on their next adventure.

To every child beginning Reception, changing class or returning to school this week: we hope your year is filled with friendship, confidence, discovery and plenty of reasons to smile 🤍

🌿 Out of Office… for a little while! 💗

I’m off for a week of fresh air, adventures and a little time to reset and recharge before September gets underway. ✨

The studio isn’t disappearing completely, but replies to emails and messages will be a little slower than usual while I’m away.

Then I’ll be back, refreshed and ready for a VERY exciting few months ahead — First Birthdays, Birthday Portraits, Christmas preparations and lots more lovely things already in the diary. 🥰

Sometimes, two favourites are all you need. 🤍

For Teddy’s First Birthday Lite Experience, his family chose Classic Portraits + Bathtime Fun — two completely different parts of his little personality, all wrapped up in one celebration.

Beautiful portraits first… and then the splashing, ducks, bubbles and huge smiles began. 🐥🫧

But one of my favourite parts came afterwards.

Teddy’s grandparents left him a little message about what he means to their family, including these words:

“No matter how hard things get, Teddy lights up our whole world.” 🤍

And really, that’s what these portraits are about.

Not simply remembering what your baby looked like at one.

Remembering who they were. How they made you feel. And just how much joy one little person brought into your family.

We can’t stop time. But together, we can remember it.

They’re moving home shortly, so for now they chose the full set of digitals.

But what I loved most?

Dad was already picturing the future: a large piece of artwork in their entrance hall… and something even bigger in the dining room.

Not simply “a nice photo”.
A portrait of the three of them together — the kind you walk past every day and feel your chest soften.

You feel proud and confident as parents — because you can see your love every day.

You feel proud and confident as a mum — because you can see your love every day.
