1st September. A new month, but no need to rush into it. đź’™

Today I went out exploring and found this beautiful, quiet spot. I could have easily walked straight past it, but something made me stop and look.

It got me thinking about how much of my work - and my own neurodivergent brain - is about noticing the things that other people might overlook. Different perspectives. Different ways of seeing. Making connections that might not be immediately obvious.

I think that’s one of the things I value most about being neurodivergent. My brain doesn’t always take the most straightforward route… but sometimes that’s exactly where the interesting things are found.

Perhaps that’s why I love exploring so much. You never quite know what you’ll discover when you allow yourself to look at things differently. 🌿

Here’s to September - staying curious, noticing the details and finding beauty in unexpected places.

A much-needed swim at Vallis Farm yesterday đź’™

There’s something so wonderfully peaceful about being beneath the surface, looking up at the water lilies and seeing the world from a completely different perspective. This shot isn’t perfect, but I absolutely love it. The little glimpse of the lily above the water, its reflection beneath, and all those tangled stems and leaves around it somehow capture exactly how beautiful and immersive this morning felt.

Sometimes you just need to get in the water. 🩵🩷💚

Sometimes the smallest moments are the ones that stay with us.

I spotted this little butterfly resting on a delicate white flower during a walk and couldn’t resist stopping for a photograph.

As a filmmaker and photographer, I love that my camera encourages me to slow down and really notice the world around me. There’s always something beautiful waiting if we take the time to look.

What’s the last little piece of nature that made you stop for a moment? 🦋💚

Through My Lens đź’š

Most people see a woodland.

I notice patterns.

The way the branches weave together. The tiny gaps where light filters through the canopy. The different shades of green. The textures. The movement.

For years, I assumed everyone experienced nature like this.

It wasn’t until much later that I realised my neurodivergent brain often notices the world a little differently. That way of seeing has become one of my greatest strengths, shaping how I approach photography, filmmaking and storytelling.

Nature has a way of slowing everything down. It gives my mind the space to notice, to observe and to connect the dots.

Sometimes, seeing the world differently isn’t something to overcome. Sometimes it’s something to embrace.

What do you notice first when you look at this photo?

A new chapter… 🌿📷

After many wonderful years in Cornwall, I’ve recently started a new chapter in Somerset.

This photograph was taken a few years ago, long before I imagined I’d one day be living nearby. Looking back, it feels rather fitting to share it now as I settle into this new adventure.

While I’m still unpacking boxes and finding my feet, I’m excited to explore more of the incredible landscapes, wildlife and stories this part of the country has to offer.

As always, I’m looking forward to capturing the natural world through my photography and filmmaking, meeting new people, and continuing to work with organisations and individuals who share a passion for nature, conservation and storytelling.

If you have any favourite wildlife spots, walks or conservation projects in Somerset, I’d love to hear your recommendations.

Here’s to new adventures. 💚
