🚨 H O L D S H O R T 🚨

USAF Rockwell B-1B Lancer 86-134 ‘Thunder Bird’ assigned to 34th Bomb Squadron ‘Thunderbirds’ based at Ellsworth AFB holds short of Runway 09 at RAF Fairford. The Bone looks absolutely menacing sitting on the tarmac with its 4 General Electric F101-GE-102 engines whining. Designers changed the variable intakes on the A model to the fixed intakes on B model due to a change in the aircrafts mission set. Originally percieved as a high speed, high altitude supersonic bomber, the A model never saw service and the project was cancelled with just 4 prototypes manufactured. The B model was introduced as a low level penetrative strike aircraft with a total of 100 airframes built.

This particular C-130 bares no markings other than the USAF emblem and a rather clean looking paint job seen here at RAF Fairford bringing in support for Dyess’ deployed B-1B Lancers

USAF Boeing B-52H Stratofortress 60-007 ‘Guardians of the Upper Realm’ assigned to 23rd Bomb Squadron based at Minot AFB lands at RAF Fairford. The Tower controller wasnt messing around and told the 52 to land after they requested multiple circuits allowing it to complete just a single missed approach. It was probably due to a 747 holding short waiting to depart.

Vickers-Supermarine Spitfire T.VIII MT818 / G-AIDN wearing USAAF Markings, the only surving Mk.VIII Trainer making this one of the rarest Spitfires in the world. Last Saturday my Dad had his flight in MT818 from , callsign GAIDN. Being able to watch him fulfil his dream of flying in a Spit was incredible. Thank you & the pilot for making my Dads day so memorable.

USAF Rockwell B-1B Lancer 86-134 ‘Thunder Bird’ assigned to 34th Bomb Squadron based at Ellsworth AFB. The Lancers wings can sweep from a full forward 15 degrees to a fully swept 67.5 degrees reducing drag allowing the Bone to push through the sound barrier on high speed supersonic flights.

USAF Boeing B-52H Stratofortress 60-0007 ‘Guardians of the Upper Realm’ assigned to the 23rd Bomb Squadron ‘Barons’ based at Minot AFB. In June 2017 the squadron achieved a historic 400th consecutive combat sortie without a single maintenance cancellation, this feat was achieved on the day of their 100th Anniversary whilst flying combat sorties in support of Operation Inherent Resolve
