Ive just read a post from someone on Mull saying they had just witnessed the most awful act of Otter harassment by a group of photographers at a location i know well.
He said he saw them tracking an otter for half a mile preventing the animal from coming ashore.
If this is what happened then, Im annoyed at that behavior, but remember that I wasn't there so I can only take his word for it.
He also posted some images of a group of photographers on the shoreline but blacked out their faces, why !
If he feels they are doing something illegal, then why black out their faces !
I have photographed otters in the wild for many years in a professional capacity and I treat not just this species but all animals with the greatest respect, we have to look after them.
I have to say though, while working on Mull with them, I was concealed on the shoreline photographing an otter when a lady stops her car directly level with me, gets out with her phone and proceeds to talk on her phone as loud as she could possibly do so without screaming, I ask you, who was doing the harassment on that occasion !
