I'm Kate, and I love to capture documentary style photographs that perfectly capture the big moments and those little moments in-between, like someone's laugh or the sparkle of their eyes, so you can treasure them forever. Nostalgic photography you could say. Or, photos that feel like comi

ng home. Whether it’s a wedding, elopement, couple photoshoot or family session I'd love to tell your story. To get to know the real you and show it. I can travel anywhere, and in Scotland I'd do so in my wee camper van. But I'm happy to fly abroad too! Send me a DM if you're interested in having me as your photographer. Or you can email me at [email protected] or through my website www.kategodfreyphoto.com.

Coats, Paisley on 35mm film and digital for P & H 🎞️

The kindest and sweetest folks I ever did meet and if I’m truly honest, a couple with the most enviable friend group in the world. All couples, all besties.

This is the second wedding of this friend group I’ve captured. 2028 and I’ll be back with them all for wedding number 3 🫶🏻

Coats’ gothic architecture suited this pair to a T. Grateful to have been a part of this day and hopeful to be back at this venue in the future.

A reminder that my diary for 2027 is pretty much full and that 2028 bookings are now open. Enquire at www.kategodfreyphoto.com/contact 💌 link in bio!

This question could bring in a lot of different answers but for me, a good photographer is someone who is…📸

An empath. We feel it all so we can capture it all.

Unique, creative, and has a clear sense of their own art ✨

A good listener and communicator. Taking on your ideas but contributing their own experience to make yours, as a client, even better.

Honest. They’ll let you know when things just won’t work, or correct your posture when it’s crooked, tell you if you’ve got spinach in your teeth.

Great at editing. More than half of photography is in the editing, the colour grading, the fine tuning, the culling, the cleaning up of images 💻

Patient, observant and calm. Lots of the best photographs happen in moments that might go unnoticed. A good photographer, well they’ll notice them and document them.

Assertive and confident in their own voice when needed. Working with people means things don’t always go to plan or work out like they should. A good photographer is confident in finding new solutions and assertive in guiding you to the best outcome.

Know that you’ll find these qualities in me. My past life as a counsellor prepared me well for the human side of my style of photography. I’ll always be honest, kind, observant, patient, and most importantly, I’ll get you photos that capture how it all felt because I’ll be feeling it right along with you 🫶🏻

Taking on a ridiculously limited amount of elopements for next year because I am booked and blessed 🥹 and my diary is open for 2028! Pop me a wee DM or enquire officially at www.kategodfreyphoto.com 💌

Capturing how it felt 🤘🏻

D & D at Cottiers and Bloc. Taking it back to where it all began for these two. You could feel the energy between them and how much it meant for them to be back where they first connected saying yes to forever together.

I think these photographs capture that feeling of liberated joy, the tension of a deep tug of nostalgia and memories of how it felt at the beginning, the nerves of what was happening now. Absorbing all the emotions and energy of your story, helps me to tell it exactly as it felt 💕

Cheers to many, many years together you two. Thank you for the trust.

If this is how you envision your day to be captured, I’d love to talk. You can DM me or message me at www.kategodfreyphoto.com/contact (link in bio) 💌

DIY weddings are my absolute favourite. There’s something so earthy, real, and pure about them 💕

S & O’s wedding was a true team effort as everyone they loved contributed their skills, found vendors, decorated the village hall. I loved every minute of it, right down to tin cans tied to the borrowed car 🚙

Let me capture your day in a real, honest, genuine way. If this sounds like how you’d like your day captured, DM me or pop me an enquiry at www.kategodfreyphoto.com - very limited 2027 space and diary open for 2028! 💌

How do I define my photographic style? 📸

Documentary, cinematic, editorial, real, intimate. RAW.

These terms can be confusing and can seem mutually exclusive. But I really do believe you can be all these things at once.

You can let things unfold natural in front of you, but document them in a way that feels more cinematic in its framing or by adding motion blur. Or add in some posing direction to make it more editorial and introduce off camera flash.

My style is defined by HOW IT FELT. I let the feelings of the moment absorb into my skin and I choose how to document it based on that.

If it feels warms, quiet, intimate I’ll lean into cinematic techniques. If it feels very raw and real I’ll lean into shooting on a wide angle, more photojournalistic. Or if it feels high energy and fun I’ll pop on my flash and get super involved. If it feels fashion forward and editorial I’ll step into a director’s space and pose.

My style, is just REAL…

The what happened and how it felt. Every image should be a reflection of that.

To achieve this I make sure:
1. We talk ahead of your wedding or elopement so I’m coming into the day with a small insight into your story already.
2. I’ll get to know your people by arriving early and introducing myself.
3. I’ll absorb the mood and use emotional intelligence to direct my art.
4. I won’t cookie cutter your wedding with the same attitude as I had at yesterday’s wedding.

My style is unique, because you are unique.

Real, filled with feelings, and a snapshot in time. If this sounds like how you’d like your day documented, I’m taking 2027 and 2028 enquiries now. DM me or enquire via my website www.kategodfreyphoto.com 💌
