'Double the babies doesn't mean double the stress'

One of the questions I'm often asked is how a twin newborn session works.

The answer? Very similarly to a single newborn session.

We split the session into different parts, spending time photographing each baby individually as well as creating those gorgeous images of them together.

Preparation beforehand is exactly the same too - plenty of feeds, cuddles and arriving ready to relax and enjoy the experience.

In fact, twin sessions can sometimes be easier than people expect!

If one baby needs feeding or settling, we can often continue photographing their sibling. And one of my favourite things about twins is how often they settle each other. There's something incredibly special about placing them side by side and watching them relax together.

Of course, we also make time for family photographs because let's be honest... parents of newborn twins are absolute superheroes and deserve to be in the photos too.

The result is a gallery that captures not only your twins together, but their own little personalities as well.

And the best bit?

Twin newborn sessions are exactly the same price as my standard newborn sessions.

The best Father’s Day gift isn’t the latest gadget, another pair of socks, or a last-minute box of chocolates…

It’s being in the frame.

So often dads are the ones behind the camera, capturing the milestones, the first smiles, the family adventures and the everyday moments that make up childhood. But years from now, those photographs become even more precious when they show the people who were there too.

I love creating images that tell a story – the tiny newborn curled safely in Dad’s arms, the gentle forehead kiss, the pride, the protection, and the overwhelming love that can be felt without a single word being spoken.

As a newborn photographer in East Grinstead, West Sussex, some of my favourite images are the ones that celebrate the special bond between a father and his baby. These are the photographs that families treasure for generations.

'But what if my baby won't sleep?'

It's one of the most common questions I get asked before a newborn session.

The truth is, babies don't read the plan.

Some drift off the moment they're wrapped.

Others need a little more time, a cuddle, a feed, or simply a chance to feel safe and settled.

And that's absolutely fine.

With over 9 years of experience photographing newborns, I've learnt that patience is just as important as a camera.

Behind every beautiful sleepy newborn portrait is a session that is completely baby-led.

There is no rushing.
No pressure.
No expectations.

Just plenty of cuddles, soothing, settling and going at your baby's pace.

The things you'll miss most are often the things you never realised you'd forget.

The softness of their cheeks.

The tiny flakes of newborn skin.

Those delicate eyelashes resting against their face.

The way their lips curl as they sleep.

When you're in the middle of those early days, it feels impossible to imagine them ever changing.

But they do.

Far quicker than any parent expects.

That's why I love creating images like this. Not because they're technically beautiful, but because they preserve the little details that disappear all too soon.

A little life update...

If you've noticed I've been a bit quieter on social media recently, there's a very good reason...

A few days ago, I married my best friend.

The last few months have been filled with wedding planning, last-minute to-do lists, and making memories with the people we love most.

Standing there on the day reminded me exactly why photographs matter so much.

The flowers fade.
The cake gets eaten.
The decorations get packed away.

But the photographs become part of your family's story forever.
(Thank you to the amazing who captured our day - she has shared a few sneak peeks...can't wait to see the rest!)

It's something I think about every time I photograph a newborn baby.

Because whilst those sleepy cuddles, tiny fingers and squishy cheeks feel like they'll last forever, they really don't.

Before you know it they're smiling, sitting, crawling and heading off to school.

So thank you to everyone who has kept me busy in the studio whilst I've been distracted planning a wedding.

I'm back, feeling refreshed, and looking forward to capturing lots more precious memories for families across East Grinstead and beyond.

And if you're expecting a baby this summer, please do get in touch sooner rather than later. I've already had to turn several families away recently due to lack of availability and summer is filling quickly.

Happy Mother’s Day 🤍

To the mums who are the glue holding it all together.

The snack makers. The school-run drivers. The “have you packed your PE kit?” reminders.
The ones who know where everything is.
The ones who stay up that little bit later just to check everyone’s okay.

You probably don’t even realise how much of your children’s world revolves around you.

The little things you do every single day?
They matter more than you think.

And if you’re usually the one behind the camera… this is your gentle reminder to step in front of it too. One day, those photos will mean everything. Your children deserve to see you in their story — not just as the one who took the picture.

And today can feel tender for some of us.

For the mums we miss.
For the ones who should still be here.
For the women who carry motherhood in their hearts in different ways.

Their love doesn’t disappear.
It lives on in the traditions we keep, the stories we tell, and the way we love our own families.

However today feels for you — celebrating, remembering, or somewhere in between — I’m sending you so much love 🤍
