Something I’ve been thinking about a lot recently 🤔

Wedding videography is something I care massively about. I don’t want to just put together a wedding film and go into the next couple, I want every couple to have something that feels like their film. Something carefully crafted, something that feels a true reflection of the atmosphere, the laughs and the personality that made their day theirs.
But the reality of doing this alongside a 32 hour-a-week job, is that the time available to create those films is has been limited.
At the moment, Tuesday is pretty much my one dedicated day for editing and admin. The rest has to fit around work, the wedding days themselves, second shooting and occasionally finding a bit of time at the weekend to actually switch off.
Over the last three months I’ve filmed 5 weddings and 5 second shoots, while also working my regular job on some Saturdays too and it’s equally exciting as it is tiring, I may have taken on a lot this year, but I told myself I can do it 💪
I’m not saying that for sympathy because I chose this unique and rewarding career path.
It’s just the reality of trying to build something I’m proud of while making sure I still give every couple the time and attention they deserve.
But running a business also means learning that your time matters too.
Recently, I have felt behind in the timeline of editing, but ultimately, I want to ensure each film is perfect before delivery day.
I’m still figuring out that balance of how to keep the standards high, make every film feel genuinely unique, and still make this something sustainable.
I don’t think there’s a perfect answer to it yet, but it’s genuinely nice to reflect where I have come in the last few years to get to this stage, so thank you to everyone who has booked me and put their trust in me for their wedding day ☺️
