Poppy and Greg got married at Elsdon Church, packed full of flowers and friends playing live music, in the shadow of the Cheviot Hills in Northumberland National Park.

Then we drove to the tops of the moors for portraits. Just the two of them, the hills, a few sheep, and some cyclists who absolutely did not care that there was a wedding happening.

Back at the farm, Poppy’s barn had been transformed. Shrubbery, greenery, trees, flowers everywhere. A proper DIY wedding done to perfection.

One of those days that reminds you why you do this job😊🥰

What a day Katie and Jonny gave us on Saturday. A ceremony in Alnwick then down to Summerhill Bowling Club in Newcastle, bubbles in the churchyard and a brilliant BBQ too!

These two had told me beforehand they were worried about feeling awkward in front of the camera. I mean, just look at them.

This is what happens when you stop thinking about the photos and just enjoy your day. My job is to make sure you feel relaxed enough to forget I’m even there, and then catch everything that happens when you do.

So much more to come, you two. What a lovely day. 🖤

E&D yesterday at Newcastle Contemporary Art and honestly, what a day to be a wedding photographer.

Alcoholic shots straight after the ceremony. Incredible food. Decor that stopped me in my tracks. And a group of friends and family who were absolutely there for it from start to finish.

These two wanted their day to feel like them. Relaxed, fun, full of the people they love, but also visually stunning. They nailed it on every count and I had the best time capturing every bit of it.

NCA is such a brilliant venue for this kind of wedding. All white walls, incredible natural light and rooftop views over Newcastle. The perfect backdrop for a couple who knew exactly what they wanted.

Let me tell you what it’s actually like having me there on your wedding day.

I’m not barking directions or chasing a shot list. I’m calm and chatty, mostly just documenting what’s happening naturally around you.

But if a moment needs it, better light, a stronger composition, I’ll step in and take control. A gentle nudge can turn a candid photo into something properly stylish, and that’s exactly when I’ll direct it.

You won’t be held in a pose until your arms ache. You won’t be pulled away from your guests for forty-five minutes. Just the right amount of guidance, at the right moment.

Couples don’t book me for a style. They book me because they want someone there who makes the day feel like theirs, with photos that still look effortlessly good.

Saturday at High Brockholme Barns near Northallerton. Where to even start.
A surprise brass band. Alpacas. A rodeo bull. Confetti thrown with absolutely no restraint whatsoever. And a wind that refused to behave itself during couples shots, which, for the record, worked entirely in our favour given Jess’s dress and veil.
