The nervousness I feel when posting food photography is unrivalled because it’s WILD out there and everyone has an opinion 😂 but the only important thing to me is the client - and my shoots with the incredibly talented are always collaborative, creative, fun and heart warming.

And the food is always stunning (I’m still thinking about that basque cheesecake 😋)

We shot these back in April and I haven’t shared them yet but now was the time - Georgie is amazing and if you’re looking for a private chef in Sussex she’s your girl.
Georgie has sharpened her focus to the food she loves most - coastal inspired dishes that feel completely her. And this shoot reflected that change of focus.

We also captured some shots of Georgie’s process in this one which I really enjoyed and show the care and detail that goes into every dish.

Claire is a woman with a mission.

A highly skilled, dynamic career behind her. A new location ahead. A business she’s building entirely on her own terms. And somewhere in the middle of all of that, she reached out to me to help her show up for the next chapter.

We shot at Good Space coworking in Queen’s Park on one of those perfect London mornings and I think the images show exactly what this moment feels like for her. She’s purposeful, vivid and ready to start something new.

This is one of my favourite kinds of session - there is something electric and inspiring about someone who has decided to back themselves completely and just go for it.

Claire, watching you build this is going to be wonderful and I’m rooting for you every step of the way.

I’m going to say something that might ruffle a few feathers…

Professional photography isn’t just for the brands that have already made it. It isn’t just for the polished, the established or the ones with a proper marketing budget. It isn’t something you earn when you finally feel ready or when your products are perfect or when your business looks the way you think it should look.

It’s for the maker selling on Etsy from her kitchen table at midnight. The coach who knows she’s brilliant but still crops herself out of every photo or relies on selfies that take an age to get right. The candlemaker who hand pours every single one and photographs them on her windowsill and wonders why they don’t look like the ones she sees on Instagram.

It’s for all of them. It was always for all of them.

I started AnySomething because I got genuinely fed up of seeing extraordinary small brands underselling themselves with images that didn’t come close to showing how good they actually were. And even more fed up of hearing them say they didn’t deserve better yet.

You deserve better now. Today. With the business you have right now and the products you made this week and the version of yourself that shows up every single day and keeps going even when it’s hard.

That’s who I built this for. That’s who I show up for every single time I pick up my camera.

I have just spent the most extraordinary morning reading through the Pay it 4-ward entries and I genuinely don’t have the words but I’m going to try 🥹

Over 50 small brands and independent makers took the time to tell me about their business, why now feels like the right moment and what having better images would change for them. And every single one of them reminded me exactly why I started AnySomething Photography in the first place.

The self doubt. The feeling that professional imagery is for someone else, someone more established, someone who has it more together. The quiet belief that what they’ve built just isn’t quite enough to deserve the fuss yet.

It is enough. It has always been enough. And reading those entries this morning made my heart so full I had to sit with it for a while before I could do anything else.

All of the entrants have now been contacted. I hope what lands in your inbox today makes you smile.

To everyone who entered, thank you. You reminded me that this work matters. That showing up for small brands isn’t just a job. This is something I will be making a regular thing of on here - because sometimes you just need someone to give you a chance.

Right. I need a cup of tea. 🌿

After much thought I’ve decided that the only way I want to mark my 4th business birthday was by giving something back.

Four years of the most incredible clients. Makers, creatives, coaches, designers and passionate independent business owners who have trusted me with their brands, recommended me to people they love and shown up for shoots even when they were nervous. You are the entire reason there is a year five. This is only possible because of you.

So in your honour, I’m launching Pay it 4-ward.

One complimentary mini shoot for one small independent maker or creative brand who needs better images but isn’t quite there yet with the budget to make it happen. Because I’ve seen what good images do for a small business and I believe everyone deserves that moment.

Today, AnySomething Photography turns 4.

I thought a lot about creating some fun post about it and what I wanted to say but in the end, simple seemed best.

I’m not great at shouting about my achievements and I’m just very grateful to still be here after 4 years, doing what I love and helping amazing passionate brand owners show up with imagery they can be proud of and that reflects the feeling of what they do.

There is a little something special coming at the end of the week to say thank you and to hopefully help even more, but for now this post just serves as a huge thank you.

To everyone who’s trusted and believed in me, encouraged me and cheered me on even when it’s felt tough, I’m so thankful you’re all here.

This post probably won’t do so well as it’s just a single photo with no text and no video but I truly believe that a good still image speaks a million words and here is my where I’m happiest, with my camera, on the beach in my beloved home town.

I could talk about lighting and composition and editing. But that’s not really why people book me.

They book me because they’re tired of images that don’t do their work justice. Because they’ve been putting it off for too long. Because they want to finally feel as good on the outside of their business as they do on the inside.
And because they want to take their business seriously, look credible and established and feel confident to charge what they’re worth.

That’s what I’m here for. Not just the photos. All of it.
