Let me tell you what a Legacy Circle year looks like.

Spring: new light, new energy. Your dog or horse in the new light. The energy of the season in every frame. #

Summer: longer days, different colours. The relationship deepening in the photographs.

Autumn: the golden hour that makes everything look like it matters. Because it does.

Winter: the quiet season. The portraits that feel like stillness.

And at the end of the year: a handcrafted legacy book. The whole story, bound. Not fragments. Legacy.

Three model call spots. If this is calling to you — it's meant for you.

Something a little different today.

I'm opening up three Legacy Circle model call spots for 2026 and I'd love to hear from you.

The Legacy Circle is my most meaningful work. Four sessions across a full year. Spring, summer, autumn and, winter capturing your dog or horse through every season of their life. At the end of the year you receive a handcrafted coffee table book that tells the whole story.

Model call means complimentary sessions in exchange for allowing me to use the images in my portfolio — with your permission, always.

Drop me a message or email [email protected] to find out more.

I knew Buddy before I photographed him. He was my friend Karen's horse a grey, in his twenties, with the particular ease of an animal who had long since stopped needing to prove anything.

At the time, I was concentrating entirely on dog photography. Then Karen's husband called. They'd made the decision about Buddy. He asked if I'd come.

I didn't hesitate. And what I photographed that day changed the direction of my work entirely.

Karen told me afterwards that she has her coffee with him every morning. In his portrait on the kitchen wall. Buddy is gone. But he's still at the table.

This is the story of that session and why it's the reason the Senior Horse Book Project exists.

What happens when you lose your phone?

Not being dramatic. Genuinely asking.

Most of us have thousands of photos of our animals on our phones. Memories pop up randomly. We smile and keep scrolling. But when the phone goes, breaks, gets lost, backup didn't work and those images go with it.

And even if they don't: is a phone scroll really how you want to remember the animal who changed your life?

A portrait on the wall is different. It's there every morning. Part of the house, part of the routine, part of the way the light falls on a Tuesday afternoon.

You don't have to lose the phone to understand why that matters.

Let's have a chat with a no obligation discovery call. Link in Bio

I've been quietly planning something new.

Something I think a lot of dog owners in Scotland have been waiting for.

I'm not ready to share all the details just yet. But I will be very soon.

If you've ever wanted professional portraits of your dog without the commitment of a full session watch this space.

Drop a 🐾 in the comments if you'd be interested. I'd love to know.

Next week I'm running my third iPhone photography workshop, this one on composition.

And the number one mistake I see dog owners make when photographing their pets?

Shooting from standing height.

Your dog's world is low to the ground. Their face, their expressions, the way they look at you, all of it reads completely differently when you get down to their level and shoot from there.

It sounds simple. But the difference it makes to your photos is immediate.

This is just one of the things we cover in the workshop along with how to use space, light, and your dog's natural behaviour to create images that actually look like them.

The next session is 26th May online link in bio if you'd like to join us.

I've been thinking a lot lately about how many photographs never make it off a phone.

Not because people don't care but because life moves fast, and before you know it, your dog is greying at the muzzle or your horse is moving a little slower, and the photos you meant to take are still on a to-do list somewhere.

That's why I started the Wolfe & Fox newsletter. Once a month I share stories from sessions, honest tips for photographing the animals you love, and the kind of things I don't always post here.

And right now, everyone who signs up gets £50 toward a session or prints as a welcome gift.

If any of this sounds familiar. If you've ever looked at your dog or horse and thought "I really need to get some proper photos" then this is for you.
