At the start of the month, I had a lovely trip to Dawlish Warren. I hadn’t been here before, but I knew there was a good chance of getting photos of various waders, which is something I had been wanting to do for a while.
While it wasn’t a trip full of hundreds of photos, I did get the chance to spot a decent amount of birds, with a few nice photos to bring home too.
The visit started with the opportunity to photograph the Ruddy Turnstones running up and down the sand. It is incredibly entertaining to watch them, and I was happy with the photos that I took.
I continued along the beach and looked across the estuary. There were hundreds of Oystercatchers, Shelducks and Canada Geese resting on the shore.
I saw plenty of gulls too - Great Black Backed, Herring and Black Headed. A Cormorant perched in front of the water, allowing me to get a really cool silhouette shot.
When walking back towards the car, there was a very accommodating House Sparrow among the bushes that allowed me to snap a few images.
Not the most exciting birding trip ever, but a very lovely day, and I hope you enjoy the photos I took!
