Just doing baby orangutan things 🧡

Rufus is always finding a way to keep himself busy. Whether he’s climbing, exploring or causing a little bit of mischief, there’s never a dull moment when he’s around.

Our last visit was no different as he spent his time doing what he does best… being completely and unapologetically Rufus 🦧

Water, Sunshine And Not A Care In The World 💦

Indali was in her element and absolutely loving the pool 🐘

From swimming around to splashing in the water, she looked like she was having the best time and making the most of the warm weather ☀️

Just a baby elephant who loves a good dust bath 🐘🫧

Zaiya was having the best time rolling around in the dust and making sure she was completely covered. One minute she was exploring, the next she was happily throwing dust all over herself.

Dust bathing is an important part of an elephant's day. It helps protect their skin from the sun, keeps insects away and can help them stay cool too.

Judging by the amount of dust she managed to cover herself with, I'd say she was having a lot of fun while doing it! 💕

Just look at those faces 🦦

The giant otter pups made an appearance on my last visit to Chester Zoo as they climbed out of the water and had a little explore around.

This was my first time seeing them, and they were even more adorable than I expected. They’re growing fast but still look so tiny next to the adults.

Happy Friday from Little Legs 🐘💦

Baby elephant Zaiya was having plenty of fun in the mud, splashing water from her trunk, stomping around and making the most of a muddy afternoon.

At just 9 months old, she never seems to be short of energy, and muddy playtime is about more than just fun. It’s all part of learning important life skills, from using her trunk properly to understanding how mud helps keep them cool and protect their skin 🩷

Just as he reached the top 😄

Jarang was determined to climb right to the top of the net, but mum Jingga had other ideas 🦧

As soon as he got high enough, she reached up, pulled him back down and made sure he stayed close. The best part was the cuddle afterwards 🧡

How did baby elephant Zaiya get this muddy?

Well she got caught in Tara’s spray and ended up absolutely soaked before heading straight for the mud 😄

After that she was rolling around, splashing about and covering herself from head to toe. By the end she was completely covered and looking very pleased with herself 💕

Just look at that muddy face and hair!

9 whole months of trunk flicks, stick obsessions and mischief 🐘

Baby Asian Elephant Zaiya is 9 months old today 🐘💕

From those first wobbly days to trunk flicks, mud baths, dust baths, balancing, climbing, chasing pigeons and everything in between, it’s been amazing watching Zaiya grow.

She’s getting bigger every day but still has that cheeky personality that everyone loves. This little compilation is a look back at some of my favourite moments from her first 9 months.

Can’t wait to see what she gets up to next 😄
