My niece and I had a wonderful time at Oxford Island on Saturday with the BTO British Trust of Ornithology NI nature day.

We enjoyed the interactive quizzes and activities, and even the food was fantastic. We got to see a Sedge Warbler getting a leg ring attached, and learned how to identify bird calls and even recognise different species of plants too.

I even managed to get my first "decent" shot (still needs work) of a beautiful Great Crested Grebe! I'll share a few more photos through the week, as I've had a lot on lately.

We had an amazing day, weather couldn't have been more perfect. Didn't see as many puffins as I'd hoped and no closeup photos, so that was disappointing, but it was still nice to have some family time.

Our beautiful Mistle Thrush had 4 babies this year and they all fledged on Saturday afternoon. I got a couple of photos, but loved this shot of her feeding one of the babies, that mouth is full of big juicy spiders! UUUGGHHH!

Last weekend, my family and I stayed in Ballycastle. (We booked the boat to Rathlin Island for the Monday).

Although it was overcast on Sunday night, I really loved this scene from the harbour. The water was so beautifully still, that the reflections looked fantastic. Just taken with my rubbish not-always-so-smart phone!

I'm so pleased to see our resident Goldcrests back in the garden this year. Last year I got a few pathetic shots, but on Sunday afternoon, I managed to capture this beautiful little bird posing for me. I usually just get their bums đŸ¤ŖđŸ¤ŖđŸ¤Ŗ.

I'll be keeping an eye out, and hopefully, I'll get some more shots of their little gold crests!

I love where I work... close to Parkanaur Forest Park, my office window faces a line of trees on the hill, and in those trees are a pair of nesting buzzards.

However, the hooded crows (grey crows) are not so happy about seeing them, and constantly try to attack and move them away.

The photos aren't brilliant quality, but I was just happy to get the shots.

I met up with a friend last week and we had a walk around my local forest park. Plenty of little song birds about, but it's always the Robin who's bravest 😆😆.
He posed for me, but I couldn't get an angle without that twig in the way!

Just about the cutest little birdies in the world.
Our gorgeous Long Tailed T**s have been visiting for about 4 or 5 weeks now, every single day, and on Saturday, I spent a short time in the garden and managed to capture this little beauty. I love the yellow eye shadow 😆😆.

These little birds are about the size of a ping-pong ball, but with a really long tail. And they rarely sit still long enough to get a good look at them lol.

New year, new start! It's been quite some time since I posted any photographs. Life's been a bit... em... difficult, and who knows what's round the next corner, but all we can do is take one day at a time.

Here's hoping and praying everyone stays safe, whether you're in the cold or the heat!

This morning, I'm at work, without my camera, so just snapped this one with my phone, but I couldn't not capture those beautiful little sparkly ice crystals.
