Love Carrickfergus!!

Everyone, there is a lot of noise around social media about violence and protests. We have seen many photos shared that are years old, and are not currently happening. Whilst we understand there maybe people out demonstrating, we encourage you to stay indoors and do not participate. Without being planned in advance, demonstrations like this only end in hurt for our community.

On 14th March, Carrickfergus man and former Irish League footballer Lee Colligan will be taking on an extraordinary challenge... climbing the full height of Mount Everest on a StairMaster.

This gruelling but inspiring effort is in honour of his brother Josh, who tragically passed away after battling with ME (Myalgic Encephalomyelitis) for 6 years.

Lee is determined to raise awareness of this devastating condition and to shine a light on the reality faced by so many living with ME.

On what would have been Joshโ€™s birthday, Lee will push himself to the limit to make sure his brotherโ€™s story, and the stories of others affected are heard.

You can follow him on Instagram for all of his updates are at https://www.instagram.com/a_walk_for_m.e/ and read more about Josh at https://joshcolligan.muchloved.com

Get after it Lee!

Folks, sadly as usual, there are several text message and other scams doing the rounds at the moment, including messages claiming to be from HMRC, the Department for Work and Pensions and Courier Companies among others.

Please stay alert and do not share any personal or financial information. These scams are designed to exploit people, and itโ€™s important not to be caught out.

This is absolutely incredible ๐Ÿซก

This stunning piece of art on Victoria Street in front of Carrickfergus train station, created by the world-renowned Dan Kitchener (DANK), celebrates our unique relationship with the US Rangers in a truly powerful and inspiring way.

Huge praise to Dan for his incredible talent and a massive hats off to everyone who made this project possible - Jonathan Hodge, The Executive Office Communities In Transition, Alternatives Restorative Justice, Carrickfergus Alternatives Peace Impact Programme and Rodney Champion. ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿป ๐Ÿ‘

Youโ€™ve all helped bring something truly special to our town - a lasting tribute and a breathtaking work of art that we can all be proud of. ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ๐Ÿ‡ฌ๐Ÿ‡ง
