Red Grouse on a drystone wall.
I wanted to get more pictures with Red Grouse on a wall but also wanted something different.
I'm liking this picture as I wanted to show more of the walls textures etc.
I think it works, what do you think? I really always like to see your opinions.

More in flight Southern Hawker Dragonflies taken at my local reserve Tarras Valley Nature Reserve the other afternoon.
The last time I tried to photograph Dragonflies flying was back in the film days and I totally failed and gave up after spending on all the developing and film. For me it wasn't realistic.
Now technology is so advanced and with digital and focus speeds it's much easier and no wasting on film costs, mind getting them in frame is still frustrating. Even with advances in technology I would say when you manage to get them in frame locking on focus before they move the opposite direction is still a matter of luck.
Hope you like the pictures, this was certainly a personal goal i've wanted to do for years.
The first 3 taken at 140mm and no cropping, it was close.
All pictures taken at f7.1 at 1/4000 sec.

Yesterday afternoon I spent a couple of hours down at Tarras Valley Nature Reserve to photograph Dragonflies in flight, this one is Southern Hawker Dragonfly.
Focusing is never simple as there speed is unreal when trying to keep them in frame.

Yesterday we was at Galloway Country Fair and back again today.
This Red Squirrel is one of my old time favourites with its eyes shut in the snow, like it's preying for the snow to stop.
Still sells so well even in summer and proved one of the popular ones yesterday with both frames and mounted versions sold.

In the past few weeks i've had nearly 800 new followers and well over 7000 likes on my latest wood mice posts, I'm blown away, thank you all so very much.

Young Pine Marten kit, taken in the very rugged Ardnamurchan region of the Scottish Highlands.
I spent 6 x early 4am mornings and 7 evenings and many midge bites, after the week I was rather tired but worth it.

Young Hare (Leveret) taken amongst the wild flowers in the set-aside down the lane where we live.
I like this as all the flowers and grasses moving in the wind and pastel soft colours.
Took a while to get a clear shot but worth the wait.

OK here's the amended and more details how the picture was taken, so please stop with all the AI nonsense.

After catching this wee mouse, giving it some food and photographing him in a controlled mobile environment (very close to the location where caught) It was back in the wild within the hour (the exact location where I found it), totally unhurt, a full belly, I never even touched it.
Oh and trap I used was checked every 15 - 20 mins so not to cause any distress.
