This video explains the Social Photography Monthly Meets — a relaxed photography community where people come together to connect through photography, share ideas, and meet other creatives.
The monthly meets are designed to be welcoming, informal, and open to everyone. It doesn’t matter whether you’re a complete beginner, shooting on a phone, or using professional camera gear. The aim is simple: create a place where photographers can meet, talk, and become part of a supportive creative community.
These meets are not a booking system or a structured event. They are a regular meeting point for the community. On the first Saturday of every month at 1pm, photographers know there is a place they can turn up, meet others, and connect through photography.
Some months many people may attend, other months it might be quieter — and that’s completely fine. This is your community, and it grows and thrives through the people who choose to take part.
Members are encouraged to introduce themselves, share their QR codes, connect before and after the meets, and organise shoots, photowalks, and collaborations themselves. Social Photography provides the meeting point — the community brings it to life.
We currently host monthly meets in:
Cambridge – Cambridge Central Library
London – The Photographers’ Gallery Café
Newcastle – Café 16
More locations will be added as the community continues to grow.
If you’d like to be part of the Social Photography community, simply come along to one of the monthly meets and introduce yourself.
