Jökulsárlón Lake, the "glacier lake", was reported to have doubled in size in the 15-year period before 2007. The huge blocks of ice that calve fromthe edge of Vatnajökull are about 30 m (98 ft) high, which fills thelagoon stocked with icebergs. Some icebergs appear naturally sculpted onaccount volcanic ash from ancient eruptions that partly covers them.

catching up on some iceland photos from my trip last June . Icebergs in Jökulsárlón Lagoon . Amazing place to visit and get up close to the glacier .

The ice at Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon is so vivdly blue due tothe fact it is extremely dense, compact and has had most of itsair bubbles squeezed out. This density allows it to absorb all thecolors of the light spectrum except for blue, which isreflected and scattered back to our eyes. The longer the lighttravels through the ice, the more red light is absorbed, and themore the blue light is scattered, resulting in the deep blue color.

The “Still” sculpture, also known as the Mirror Man, is a life-sized statue by Rob Mulholland located at the head of Loch Earn in Scotland. Very lucky with the weather . We stayed at the lovely four seasons hotel and the still is located right in front of the hotel .

Had a great day traveling around Loch Earn in Perthshire . Down to Strathyre , back up to Lochearnhead for the Highland Games then last across to Balquidder for a View from Creig an Tuirc , Looking down Loch Voil. Scotland at its finest ! .

Secret hidden waterfall in the Thorsmork Valley . Had a fantastic day exploring on the ATVs and walking through mountain troll lined gorges to secret waterfalls . Big thanks to our guide Logi.
