5 THINGS I REFUSE TO CHARGE EXTRA FOR AS A WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER

1. Travel
Every package includes travel anywhere in England and Wales. No surprise mileage charges.

2. Accommodation
If your wedding requires an overnight stay, I cover that cost myself.

3. Insurance
Professional indemnity and public liability insurance aren’t optional. They’re part of running a professional business.

4. Being Fed
I’m photographing one of the biggest days of your life. The last thing I want is couples worrying about buying me a meal.

5. Tax
The price you see is the price you pay. No hidden extras. No surprise fees.

Your wedding budget is stretched enough already.

That’s why I prefer simple, transparent pricing with everything included from the start. No awkward conversations. No unexpected invoices. Just great memories and one less thing to worry about 🤍

Three little words that mean more than most couples realise…

“I trust you.”

As a wedding photographer, those words mean everything 🥹

It means you can stop worrying about the photos, be present with the people you love, and enjoy every second of your day knowing someone is there to capture it all.

The laughs, the tears, the hugs, the moments you didn’t even realise were happening.

The best photos happen when couples trust the process and focus on making memories, not posing for the camera ❤️

Most couples spend months planning their wedding, but afterwards there are always a few things they wish they had done differently 👀

As a wedding photographer, these are some of the biggest regrets I hear couples talk about after the day:

1️⃣ Not having enough time together as a couple

2️⃣ Rushing through the timeline

3️⃣ Not getting enough photos with family

4️⃣ Worrying too much about the small details

5️⃣ Not being fully present in the moment

6️⃣ Skipping a videographer or some form of video coverage

7️⃣ Not eating their wedding breakfast

8️⃣ Trying to please everyone instead of doing what they wanted

Your wedding day will fly by faster than you can imagine 🥹

The best advice I can give is to build a day that feels relaxed, allows time to breathe, and lets you actually enjoy the moments you’ve spent so long planning.

Which of these surprises you the most? 👇

As a wedding photographer, these are some of the things I see couples forget about all the time. None of them are huge on their own, but together they can make a massive difference to how relaxed and enjoyable your wedding day feels ✨

1️⃣ Who is actually setting up your decor on the wedding morning?

2️⃣ Building enough time into the timeline for getting ready without feeling rushed

3️⃣ Scheduling some private time together as a newly married couple

4️⃣ Having a backup plan if the British weather decides not to cooperate ☔️

5️⃣ Putting together a small emergency kit with things like painkillers, fashion tape, tissues and stain remover

6️⃣ Printing your vows, even if you have them saved on your phone

7️⃣ Bringing comfortable shoes or backup flats for later in the day

8️⃣ Checking sunset time and planning a few minutes for golden hour photos 🌅

9️⃣ Allowing enough travel time between venues and locations

What would you add to this list? 👇🥰

1️⃣ The order of events completely changes the energy of your wedding

The best receptions aren’t packed with things to do. They’re planned in an order that feels natural and keeps guests engaged all evening.

2️⃣ Cocktail hour should never feel rushed

Guests need time to grab a drink, chat and settle in after the ceremony. A relaxed cocktail hour sets the tone for the rest of the day.

3️⃣ Your first dance doesn’t have to be late at night

Some of the most emotional first dances happen straight after the entrance when everyone is present and fully invested.

4️⃣ Long entrances lose momentum quickly

A fun entrance is great. A long one can slow things down. Keep the energy high and move smoothly into the next part of the celebration.

5️⃣ Hungry guests don’t listen well

If guests are waiting too long for food, their attention disappears. Good timelines keep people comfortable and happy.

6️⃣ Golden hour is worth protecting

Just 10 minutes outside during golden hour can create some of the most beautiful photos of your entire wedding day.

7️⃣ The first few songs matter most

The opening songs often decide whether the dance floor fills up quickly or takes hours to get going.

8️⃣ Too many activities can feel overwhelming

Sometimes less really is more. Guests usually remember great moments and great company more than endless scheduled activities.

9️⃣ The best receptions feel effortless

The most memorable weddings flow naturally, feel relaxed and give everyone time to simply enjoy the day.

✨ After photographing weddings for over a decade, I’ve learned that the best timelines focus on creating experiences, not just filling time slots. Save this for later 🤍

Absolutely love this wedding favour idea! 😍⚡️

These personalised Pokémon cards were such a fun way for this couple to add their personalities into their wedding day. Guests loved them, they sparked loads of conversations and unlike a lot of favours, these are something people will actually keep! 🤍

It’s little touches like this that make a wedding feel truly unique to you. ✨

15/06/2026

1. Don’t try anything new. Not skincare, not food, not workouts. Stick to what you know and trust.

2. Don’t book a last minute facial. A glowing complexion is great, but irritation, redness or breakouts the day before your wedding definitely aren’t.

3. Don’t stay up too late. I know you’ll be excited, but even a few extra hours of sleep can make a huge difference to how you feel the next morning.

4. Don’t drink too much. A glass or two to celebrate is one thing, a hangover on your wedding morning is another 😂

5. Don’t skip eating. Wedding nerves are real, but your body still needs fuel for one of the biggest days of your life.

6. Don’t forget to steam your dress or make sure someone knows who’s responsible for it.

7. Don’t overload your evening
with last minute jobs. Give yourself permission to switch off, relax and enjoy the build up.

8. Don’t leave everything until the last minute. Pack early, check everything off and save yourself the stress.

9. Don’t spiral over tiny details. At this point, the important things are already in place. Your guests won’t notice if a napkin is the wrong shade of beige.

The night before your wedding shouldn’t be spent rushing around, fixing problems or stressing over details that won’t matter tomorrow.

The goal isn’t to wake up with everything perfect. The goal is to wake up feeling excited, rested and ready to enjoy every second of the day you’ve spent months (or years!) planning. 🤍

After photographing weddings for over 11 years, I’ve learned that the couples who have the best experience are rarely the ones chasing perfection. They’re the ones who give themselves permission to slow down, be present and focus on what the day is really about.

Tomorrow isn’t about perfect timelines, perfect weather or perfect details.

It’s about marrying your favourite person. ✨

📌 Save this for the week before your wedding so future you can thank present you. 🤍📸

15/06/2026

1. Your morning needs more time than you think. Everything takes longer on a wedding day than expected.
2. Someone else needs to know the timeline. The bride should not be answering questions all day. Give a bridesmaid, coordinator or family member a copy so you can actually enjoy it.
3. Family photos can get chaotic fast. Make a shot list before the wedding and share it with your photographer.
4. Build buffer time into your day. Something almost always runs a little late, and a few extra minutes can save a lot of stress.
5. Plan time to actually eat. Champagne and nerves are not a substitute for food 😂
6. Add 10 quiet minutes with your partner. No guests, no phones, no distractions. Just the two of you taking it all in.
7. The best wedding days do not feel packed. They feel calm, smooth and intentional.

📌 Save this before making your wedding day timeline. Future you will be very grateful. 🤍

I’ve photographed weddings for over 11 years and if there’s one thing I’ve learned, it’s that the couples who enjoy their day the most aren’t the ones with the busiest timelines. They’re the ones who give themselves space to breathe, be present and actually enjoy the day they’ve spent so long planning 😊
