Known locally as ‘Cameron’s Seat,’ these natural stones form a perfect seat & footrest on the hills above Strathyre.
I often stop off here on my morning dog walk with ‘Tulla’ for a well earned rest, to clear my head and take in the beautiful views.

I took a walk with my camera this morning up into the woods where ‘deforestation’ has recently started….I show a small ‘mix’ of what the woods look like before & after….I know which I prefer….
I do hope the Red Squirrels, Pine Marten, Foxes, Deer, Birds and all the other creatures that depend on these woods for survival, somehow find a way to make it through….!!

Took these Red Squirrel pictures this afternoon from my ‘hide’ in our garden.
This little lady knew I was there but still came down from from the tree, where she was just relaxing in the dappled sunlight and allowed me to spend half an hour or so photographing her, mainly eating….

For the last few years I’ve been asked to help photograph the annual ‘Stuc na Croin’ hill race, here in Strathyre, here’s a small sample from 2025. I’m privileged to be helping out again this year (May bank holiday) where I shall once again try to capture not only the beauty of the location but the sheer grit and determination of all the runners. Good luck to all the competitors, this is one tough race….
