Riddex Pest Control recently attended a property after a tenant reported concerns about being bitten during the night.

After carrying out her own investigations, the customer was none the wiser as to what could be causing the mystery bites.

Fortunately, we know exactly where biting insects like to hide — and it’s not always where you’d expect!

🔍 During our inspection, we discovered BED BUGS hiding inside a picture frame in the bedside cabinet.

Bed bugs are experts at staying out of sight. They can hide in tiny cracks and gaps around:

• Bedside cabinets and furniture
• Bed frames and headboards
• Mattress seams
• Skirting boards
• Fixings, joints and small crevices

Finding the source is the first step. Now a 2-part treatment programme is underway using:

🚨 Emergency Call-Out - Rat trapped in a bedroom 🚨

We were recently called out to deal with a rat that had found its way into a customer’s bedroom – definitely not the sort of guest anyone wants!

Thankfully, our trusty terrier Pippa was on hand. Using her incredible instincts and training, Pippa quickly sniffed out exactly where the rat was hiding and humanely dispatched it, bringing the situation to a swift end.

Jobs like this highlight just how valuable a well-trained working terrier can be. In situations where rodents are concealed in difficult locations, specialist dogs like Pippa make all the difference, allowing us to resolve problems quickly and effectively.

Riddex Pest Control was recently called out to a property suffering from an ongoing rat infestation in the back garden and beneath the decking.

Our inspection revealed that the rats had gnawed their way out of the drain chamber, allowing them easy access to the garden. We also discovered active rat nests and large amounts of droppings, confirming a well-established infestation.

We’ve now put the appropriate control measures in place to tackle the problem safely and effectively. A follow-up visit is already scheduled for next week to monitor activity and continue the treatment plan.
