Based in the county of Lincolnshire in the East Midlands, just 10 miles from the A1, we offer high-spec wildlife photography hides which provide a close-up photographic experience with some of the UK’s most iconic wildlife. All of our hides are placed in locations that take background, lighting and angle of view into account for both the professional and amateur photographer alike.

Last nights session with the little owls was spent in the company of Richard Carnell. I went and hit the hay at midnight but Richard stayed on for another hour and got the money shot!! Thanks for sending it over Richard - I’ll be back in the hide tonight to try capture something similar.

Cracking session last night with these little owls. 5 owlets in total at this site - this behaviour of the owlets looking out before they are fully fledged won’t last much more than a week.

We have had a newly fledged brood of kingfishers on the pond today. 5 were seen together at one point with 3 on the perch together. Timings on this behaviour is incredibly difficult to preempt. In the past when we have seen this same behaviour from the hide the young have come onto pond with the adults for the 10 days. We have a few spaces for tomorrow and over the weekend if anyone wants to add these images to their kingfisher portfolios then there’s no better time to try your luck. The seldom seen part of the little owls life cycle. We last did this setup 4 years ago so its a real privilege to be doing it again this year - watching the owlets go from an egg to fledging.
There are 5 young in the nest we are sure this setup will throw up some very unique images.

We have plenty of oppotunities lined up for next month with some great species. Some breif info here with images illustr...

We have plenty of oppotunities lined up for next month with some great species. Some breif info here with images illustrating what to expect. A more detialed newsletter will be going with the expected dates the individual hides are likely to run and prices. Depending on timings there will be potential to combine 2 daylight sessions and one nocturnal session together to make a full 24hrs session or they can be booked individually too.

Little owls - We have 2 sites this year - one in Northampton photographing the birds coming into various perches and props to collect food. This session starts late afternoon until sunset. We also have one lined up in Lincolnshire likely to be run nocturnally with flash concentrating on the adults feeding the young at the nest site both inside and outside the nest cavity.

Kestrels - We have scaffold hides up at 2 different nest sites, one a natural tree site and another an old barn door setting. The wired hide is also setup the same as years gone by capturing them on various perches and props taking food.

Cuckoo - We have located some nests now so all being well with the birds we will be running sessions with them later in the month. These sessions caoncentrate on the extraordinary breeding behavoiur of the cuckoo being bought up by its host (reed warbler).

Barn owl - A couple of sites we are hoping to work with this year include a tree site and a brick barn window.

Swallow - The swallows are entering and exiting through an old ivy covered stable door. We use flash for the exposures here so as to freeze them in flight leaving the barn. We are supplying all the lighting equiptment needed.

Fox/tawny owl - The fox and tawny owl sessions we are running from the wired hide are working incredibly well with activity from one species or the other happening all night. Fox cubs should any day now - the image in this post was taken on the 6th June last year.

Otter/heron - The summer throws up some great conditions to shoot in at the pond hide. Clear cooler nights will often make the pond errupt in mist and the short summer nights means theres also a daylight side to the session with the ponds daytime visitors before packdown time at 7am.

Hares - This has probably been our best year to date with these hides. There were not many photographers during the spring that didn't witness hares boxing and a good few of them were lucky to have front row seats resulting in capturing some outstanding images of this behaviour. Now we are into the summer the wildflower meadows are lookng great and in full bloom and there are fantastic numbers of hares and leverets on the ground.

Some images taken by Steve from our little owl hide this past week. We have sessions starting there Monday 1st June and right on cue this week the birds have been putting in a considerable amout more visits to the perches so a sure sign they are now feeding young.
