Questions to ask your photographer if you’re planning a q***r wedding:
-
1) Do they know and understand how to prompt and pose you in a way that’s NOT heteronormative? If you’re both wearing suits, dresses, something that doesn’t fit the societal norms, if there’s 2 bouquets, a height difference, no height difference, do they know how to work with this?

2) Has your photographer photographed q***r weddings, if they haven’t, do they actively want to photograph a q***r wedding for the RIGHT reasons or are they just saying they’re inclusive to tick that inclusivity box?

3) Does your photographer understand the true meaning of q***r joy? Do they understand the privilege of photographing q***rness? Will they experience and share that joy with you?

4) Does your photographer understand the potential different dynamics? The use of different gender neutral language, “The newlyweds” “The happy couple”. They’re not going to accidentally call the suite you’re getting ready in on the morning of your wedding “the bridal suite” if there’s no bride.
