A nice end to the season to see one of my own published as the lead frame in The Guardian sport The Guardian Guardian sport
Sports Photography is HARD.
The other day I was paid 11p for an image sale... Yep, 11 pence. I am not yet in a position where I can earn a flat fee to cover the game (Hi Reuters,Getty Images and co. ) fingers crossed that with the right application and perseverance, that day will come.
With a young family, substantial investment in kit and a lot of weekend time out of the house, it is not as easy as it may seem and next season I will have to re-consider how and when I work.
It has to be sustainable.
Although, I remind myself, 6 months ago I was freezing cold, shooting the Isthmian Premier Division with the worlds worst floodlights. Today I had the comforts of Wembley shooting the Adobe Women's FA Cup Final for Shutterstock Editorial.
For anyone starting out, keep going, push the boundaries and take your chance when it comes.
It will come.
