When Sebastiaan and Barbora first contacted me, I knew I wanted to be their photographer.

An intimate wedding, surrounded by family and very good friends, bringing together three cultures. Sebastiaan is Dutch, Barbora is Czech, and they met here in the UK.

One of the first words they used to describe their day was “relaxed” — and it absolutely was.

But what they didn’t tell me was just how emotional their day would be…

With little Sam at the centre of it all, taking everything in his stride and having the absolute best time, there really wasn’t a dry eye in the house for much of the day.

It was one of those weddings where you could feel just how much love there was between everyone in the room. The kind of day that reminds me exactly why I love what I do.

It really is such an enormous privilege to be trusted to tell a story this unique and beautiful for a couple.

This one is definitely a wedding I’ll cherish.

Jane and Phil, what can I say… this was a special one… 2 huge wonderful personalities, reflected in all their amazing friends and family that surrounded them all day… there were so many beautiful, and hilarious things said in the speeches that everyone (including me) went from tears to laughter and back again like a yoyo… it was so hard to pick 20 images so I’ve crammed as many in as I can…

What a day! Suzie and Ross came over from California for a quaint English wedding and boy did England deliver! From start to finish this wedding was special.. small, intimate, nowhere to hide. Suzie wanted to remember the place she grew up and everything was sentimental to her and her family and friends.. people she had know and loved all her life.. Ross had friends fly all the way from the US to share the day, and there were many tears shed.
It was an absolute joy and privilege to tell their story…

My favourite part of couple portraits isn’t always the portraits themselves.

It’s the walk there.

The little moments when my couples think they’re not being photographed. The sneaky sip of Dutch courage. The cheeky fag. The whispered conversations, the belly laughs, the hand squeezes.

A few minutes away from the crowd, with nowhere to be and nobody needing anything from them.

Just two people, together.

Relaxed, authentic, and often my favourite photographs of the whole day.

A 50th done properly.

A full room, plenty of familiar faces, lots going on, and exactly the kind of atmosphere I love photographing.

Once the dancefloor filled up, that was me sorted. That’s where the best photos happen—people forgetting about the camera, getting stuck in, and just enjoying themselves.

This is why I shoot the way I do—getting right in the middle of it and documenting the party as it actually felt.

My job isn’t just taking photos.It’s reading a room.

Knowing when to bring the energy, and knowing when to quietly disappear into the background. To blend in. To make people feel comfortable enough to forget the camera is even there.

I’m constantly watching, listening, feeling the atmosphere shift, being a bit of a chameleon (I LOVE chameleons their little hands and goggly eyes 🤣) so people can just be themselves.

Because that’s where the magic is.The real moments. The honest ones.And those will always be the best shots.
