Bernish Viewpoint, just outside Newry, is one of those places that really rewards a visit. Perched above the city, it offers panoramic views across some of the most spectacular landscapes in this corner of Ireland.

On this evening, dramatic clouds gathered over Newry, creating a constantly changing scene as sunlight broke through to illuminate parts of the landscape below. From this elevated vantage point, the eye is drawn across the rolling countryside towards the distant Dromara Hills and Slieve Croob, while the rugged outline of the Mourne Mountains rises prominently to the east.

Further south, the waters of Carlingford Lough shimmer beneath the cloud-filled sky, with the Cooley Mountains forming a striking backdrop beyond. It's a view that showcases the incredible variety of landscapes visible from a single viewpoint.

Moments like this are a reminder of just how beautiful Northern Ireland is, especially when seen from above.

Earlier today, my daughter and I were down in Ward Park enjoying a coffee and supporting all the runners taking part in the "Nowhere to Run 5K" – an event organised to raise awareness and vital funds for organisations on the frontline of tackling domestic abuse and supporting victims and survivors.

While we were there, we came across The Labyrinth Collective, who were hosting a pop-up event for participants and supporters of the 5K. The experience offered an opportunity to reflect on and honour those impacted by domestic and sexual violence.

My daughter and I were invited to choose an object and walk through the labyrinth towards its centre. The object represented a worry or burden, and upon reaching the centre, we left it behind before making our way back out. It was a simple but powerful experience with a really positive message.

We both loved the concept and the atmosphere surrounding it so much that I nipped back to the car to grab my drone and capture a few photographs of the labyrinth and the event.

I've shared a few of those images below. If you'd like to learn more about The Labyrinth Collective and the work they do, give their page a follow and keep an eye out for their future events.

Over the past while, I’ve had a number of requests for prints of my photos, so I’ve invested in a professional lab-quality printer to bring everything in-house.

Thought I’d share a little behind-the-scenes look at the setup πŸ“Έ

It’s fair to say it's a bit bigger than I expected, so I might need to find it a better home... but I'm really impressed with the quality of prints it produces.

I'll share details on print options and ordering soon.

Sunset over the Mournes from Murlough Beach β›°οΈπŸŒ…

Soft evening light, gentle tidal curves, and the Mournes catching the last glow of the day.

A standout moment from a beautiful evening along the coast β€” a few more from this shoot to follow.

A windsreen repair and a couple of spare hours led to an unexpected opportunity to explore Hazelbank on a stunning sunny day.

My original plan was to capture The Coronation Garden, which I’ve wanted to photograph since its official opening by His Majesty King Charles III and Queen Camilla in May 2023. But with the sunshine lighting up Hazelbank and the shoreline so beautifully, it quickly became impossible to focus on just one subject.

Here are some aerial views from an unexpectedly perfect afternoon πŸšβ˜€οΈπŸŒΊ
