Back in February, it was a real pleasure to be back at the Bangor Music Festival at Bangor University.

As Bangor University alumni, it’s always special for us to return to our roots and cover this brilliant celebration of music and creativity in North Wales. The festival continues to bring together performers, students, and audiences for a fantastic few days of live music and collaboration.

Back in January, SDG was out on the hills at Pen y Fan photographing The Fan Dance (S.F Experience) — a 24km endurance challenge through the Brecon Beacons National Park.

This 24km endurance challenge across the Brecon Beacons National Park is widely known as an initial test march linked to UK Special Forces selection. It’s a demanding route that pushes participants through steep climbs, technical descents, and a return over the same tough terrain.

From a photographic perspective, it meant working in cold early conditions and covering significant ground, up and down the mountain twice, to capture the event as it unfolded across different stages of the course.

A challenging but rewarding day documenting resilience, determination, and endurance in one of the UK’s most striking landscapes.
