Seen in St Helens yesterday was Stagecoach Merseyside brand new ADL Enviro 200 MMCs 37655 YY26 FWA and 37656 YY26 FWB and Wright StreetDeck Ultroliner 18936 MD26 XRM all on VF training. Not long now until Merseytravel Metro franchise is due to start from Sunday.

Arriva North West & Wales DAF/VDL SB120 Wright Cadets 2000 - 2026

Here as we take a look back of some photos seen all over North Wales and North West areas of the Wright Cadets serving their times with Arriva from 24**s, 25**s and 26**s series fleets. These buses are one of the best vehicles I've ever have travelled on going back a few years ago until to this year. The Cadets will be sadly missed as the whole lot have been long scrapped. But I am very happy to announce that two Cadets have been saved for future heritage preservation being 2639 CX07 CSU and recently being preserved 2640 CX07 CSV. 2640 has been one the final long serving Cadet that was seen until this year on the road with Arriva for 19 years since new. Will miss riding these vehicles in passenger use but hopefully with future events up coming I could even chance to ride them again as part of their own heritage.

The Wright Cadets have done their times with Arriva.

Brand new buses are happening at all over Arriva North Wales depots! As Bangor are to receive 10 brand new Volvo B8RLE MCV Evoras and 5 ADL Enviro 200 MMCs, Rhyl are receiving 33 brand new Wright StreetDeck Ultroliners and Wrexham to receive 11 brand new ADL Enviro 200 MMCs.

📣 From Sunday 25 October a new north-south coach service 🚏 will run daily between Bangor and Carmarthen calling at Caernarfon, Porthmadog, Dolgellau, Machynlleth, Aberystwyth and Aberaeron, cutting journey times by more than an hour.

🎟️ Tickets for 'TaithCymru' can be purchased from 10:00hrs on Tuesday 6 October, in advance via an online booking system.

We’ve delivered the final batch of 72 Volvo BZL Electric buses to Arriva UK Bus's Tottenham depot, completing a major phase of the operator’s nationwide fleet renewal programme. 🚌

The buses are now entering service across North London as part of Arriva’s £340m investment in its UK fleet. ⚡

Martijn Gilbert, Managing Director for UK Bus at Arriva, said, “Volvo vehicles continue to perform strongly in urban and rural service areas, giving us confidence in their reliability and day-to-day operational efficiency. Our drivers value the easy handling and the quiet ride from the Volvo BZL Electric buses.”

The delivery builds on a growing fleet of Volvo buses across Arriva’s network, with a further 63 Volvo B8RLE MCV eVoRas on order for Bangor, Luton, Luton Airport and Teesside, due in Q4 2026, following more than 50 delivered in 2025.

Supporting the fleet across the UK is our nationwide dealerpoint network, with more than 80 locations providing Arriva with access to technical expertise and aftersales support wherever its buses operate.

It is with deep sadness to hear with my own words as an enthusiast goes out to family, friends and colleagues of Berwyn Coaches with an unfortunate passing of the owner and founder Brian Japheth.

I had a best pleasure over the years traveling nearby and locally travelled to take the best photos of almost amount of Berwyns buses and coaches whos mainly run in the Pwllheli area and Pen Llŷn coastal routes.

I can remember going back to my childhood the route 12 Pwllheli to Caernarfon used to ran a couple of Dennis Dart SLFs and Wright Crusaders. And also remembering going back to my days of college I used to travel on the former Birmingham International Bova Futura B14 CBC, a great coach I have ever travelled on and aswell travelled on the old Vanhool coaches and a couple of Volvo Olympians like R747 XAR another top motor also travelled on to and from college.

After I left from college I started off to take pictures in Pwllheli bus station of a couple of mk1 Optare Solos round their times with Berwyns working on the Pen Llŷns. My photos from past and present fleets of their vehicles will always stay on forever more, A proud fleet and a proud company.
