Come behind the lens with us for the story behind Spring Tide, our longest panorama of Applecross Bay!

When Jack set out to photograph this scene, he wanted to capture the feeling of standing there and looking across it: the Cuillins beyond the water, Raasay and Dun Caan on the horizon, and the familiar shoreline stretching from Shore Street to Milltown.

To make that happen, he climbed higher onto the hillside and photographed the view during a spring tide, when the sea retreats further than usual and reveals incredible patterns across the sands.

The final image is actually made up of several photographs stitched together to recreate the view as we experience it in person, not just as a camera sees it.

And if you look closely, you'll even spot a lone dog walker perfectly placed within the scene!

We're also excited to be offering Spring Tide in our new Walnut Blasted Frames. Made from reclaimed Applecross fence posts, each frame is gently blasted with crushed walnut shells to remove the weathered outer layer and reveal the beautiful grain beneath.

The result is a cleaner, more contemporary finish that still retains all the character of the original timber. Combined with the floating frame design, the raised grain catches the light beautifully, creating subtle shadows and texture that change throughout the day.
