A controversial one from me… 👀
but it’s world photography day so why not!
Sometimes the difference between an incredible portfolio image and one that gets rejected is a fraction of a second.
The foot.
The supporting leg.
The hand placement.
The height of the jump.
The exact point of extension.
Having a dance background massively influences the way I photograph my dancers because I’m not just looking at the photograph.
I’m looking at the dancer.
And when you’re investing in images to represent you as a dancer, I think that matters.

What do you all think? Does it really matter? Or does it help during your shoots?
