📸 WHAT AN AMAZING OPEN DAY!

A huge thank you to everyone who came along to the FabPhotography Studio Open Day today!

It was fantastic to see some familiar faces and catch up with old clients, as well as welcome so many new people into the studio for the first time. Seeing the space busy, people chatting, taking photos, asking questions and discovering what we do was exactly what the day was about.

A massive thank you to everyone who helped behind the scenes and throughout the day to make sure everything ran smoothly. I genuinely couldn’t have done it without you.

Special thanks to our brilliant models Jodi (DeadlyInnocence) and Rachel for giving their time, energy and experience throughout the day. 📷

And a big thank you to Uthink for supporting the studio and for the work they do providing affordable creative spaces and opportunities for artists and creatives in Aberdeen.

Most importantly, thank you to everyone who walked through the door today. Whether you’re an old client, photographer, model, creative, or simply came in because you were curious, it was lovely having you.

This was the first Open Day, but definitely not the last.

Hey everyone, the final countdown is on.
This Sunday, September 6, 2026, the doors to FabPhotography Studio at The Exchange on Market Street finally open.
This is not a formal photoshoot or a crowded event; it is an open invitation for local photographers, models, stylists, designers, and anyone curious about the creative community to step inside and check out the space.
Whether you are looking for a dedicated studio to hire, want to network, or are just curious to see the setups, drop in anytime between 11 AM and 6 PM. It's completely free, though you can grab a spot via Eventbrite to let us know you're coming:

🎨 A background can completely change the feel of a shoot.

I’ve built up a good selection of seamless backgrounds so there’s plenty of choice when planning your session, from simple neutral tones to bold colours when we want something with a bit more impact.

Available colours include black, neutral grey, off white, arctic white, ivory, lobelia, crimson, cherry red, candy red, pink, sky blue and reflective silver.

📸 FREE OPEN STUDIO DAY – ABERDEEN

Ever wondered what happens inside a photography studio? Come and have a look!

FabPhotography Studio is opening its doors on Sunday 6 September, 11am–6pm, and everyone is welcome.

📷 Photographers – bring your camera, discover the studio and have a go with professional lighting. Rachel will be modelling throughout the day with different setups.

👤 Interested in modelling? – come and chat with experienced model Jodi, aka DeadlyInnocence, ask questions and get advice about modelling, posing, portfolios and working with photographers.

👗 Designers & Stylists – discover the space and see how it could work for your future projects.

👋 General public & potential clients – you’re very welcome too! Come for a look around, see live photography in action and have a chat about portraits, portfolios, events or any photography ideas you have.

There will also be an accessories/prop table, refreshments and plenty of opportunities to ask questions and meet people.

The main purpose of the day is simply to discover FabPhotography Studio and see what the space can offer. It isn’t a free photoshoot or organised model day.

📷 PHOTOGRAPHERS
Bring your camera! Rachel will be modelling throughout the day while we change lighting and setups, giving you opportunities to experience shooting in the studio. When busy, we’ll keep turns short so everyone gets a chance.

👤 INTERESTED IN MODELLING?
Meet DeadlyInnocence, an experienced model who’ll be happy to chat, answer questions and share advice about modelling, posing, portfolios and working with photographers.

👗 DESIGNERS & STYLISTS
Come and explore the space, meet us and discuss possibilities for future shoots and projects.

👋 EVERYONE ELSE
Thinking about booking a photoshoot or looking for a photographer? Come in, see the studio, browse my work and have a chat about what we could create.

A few things to remember:

• This is an Open Studio Day, not a free photoshoot or model day.
• Please respect our models and their boundaries.
• Photographers will take turns when busy.
• Images are for personal, portfolio and social media use only. Please credit the model and .ltd when posting.
• Please don’t move studio equipment without asking.
• Keep food and drinks away from shooting areas.

📸 MEET OUR OPEN DAY MODELS

A big part of the FabPhotography Open Studio Day is giving visitors the chance to see the studio in action, so I’m delighted to have DeadlyInnocence and Rachel joining me on the day.

⭐ DeadlyInnocence brings plenty of modelling experience and will be available to chat with anyone interested in modelling. Ask questions, get advice and hear about what it’s really like working with photographers and in the studio.

📷 R will be modelling for our visiting photographers throughout the day. As we change lighting, backgrounds and setups, photographers will have opportunities to photograph her and experience working in the studio.

The day isn’t a photoshoot or model day. It’s a chance to discover the space, see how we work and experience what FabPhotography Studio has to offer.

I’m opening the doors to FabPhotography Studio!

Whether you’re a photographer, interested in trying modelling, a designer or stylist, looking for a photographer, or simply curious about what happens inside a photography studio, come in and have a look around.

📷 Photographers – bring your camera, see the lighting setups in action and have a go at studio photography.

👤 Thinking about modelling? – meet DeadlyInnocence and Rachel, watch live shoots, ask questions and find out what it’s like working in front of the camera. No experience needed.

👗 Designers & Stylists – come and see the studio, meet models and photographers and chat about future projects and collaborations.

👋 Everyone is welcome – you don’t need to be a photographer or model. If you’re considering a photoshoot, looking for a photographer for an event or project, or simply want to see what happens behind the scenes, come and say hello.

FabPhotography Studio is based within Uthink Aberdeen , a charity supporting creative people and providing affordable spaces where ideas, projects and opportunities can grow. The Open Day is also a chance to discover the space and see what having organisations like Uthink supporting the local creative community makes possible.

There’s no timetable and no pressure. Drop in whenever you like between 11am and 6pm, stay for a chat, watch us shoot and see what we create.

Everyone had such a terrific time at the Marius C. Fabian lighting workshop.

Photographers joined us for a model photoshoot in Exchange 2. A small group were able to shoot in their own way and style under the direction of Marius. The participants all had a great time.

It is always great to see talented creatives in Aberdeen working on enhancing their skills, as ever our thanks to Marius for hosting the workshop, and we definitely would love to see more of these types of activities in the future.
