Out of the night.

After a ten-hour transcontinental flight across time zones, this Shanghai Airlines (a wholly-owned subsidiary of China Eastern Airlines) The Boeing Company 787-9 completes its journey. Having departed Shanghai-Pudong late the previous evening, the aircraft chased the darkness across Asia and Europe to touch down precisely at 7:50 AM on the runway at Aeroport Marseille Provence.

Positioning yourself at the end of the runway at this early hour offers optimal shooting conditions. The sun, still low on the horizon, delivers a crisp, low-angle directional light hitting the Dreamliner’s streamlined nose head-on.

This symmetrical framing highlights the remarkable cleanliness of the airframe after its long overnight transit. The underside of the fuselage provides a clean mirror effect, reflecting the morning light and creating a sharp contrast with the dark, complex mechanics of the fully locked landing gear. At 7:50 AM, the cool morning air prevents any thermal distortion (heat blur), ensuring maximum sharpness across the entire airframe.

Back on the ground for this Armée de l'Air et de l'Espace Dassault Aviation Mirage 2000D, captured here with its tail parachute fully deployed as it lands at Base aérienne 709 Cognac-Châteaubernard.

Originally designed to shorten landing distances on short or damaged runways, the use of the brake parachute remains an impressive manoeuvre to watch and a fascinating technical challenge to capture on camera, particularly with the heat blur effects generated by the jet engine in the background.

A true classic of the French fighter fleet that never fails to impress.

Airbus 's tactical airlifter, flown by the A400M Tactical Display team, pulls into a sharp, banking turn over Base aérienne 709 Cognac-Châteaubernard.

Captured in a dynamic pose that defies its sheer scale, the heavy transport highlights its muscular profile and swept-wing design. The smooth motion blur of its massive eight-bladed propellers visualizes the immense power generated by the Europrop TP400 engines, driving this giant through agile maneuvers usually expected from much smaller aircraft.

This G***K Aviation Bombardier Global 6000, captured on final approach into Aeroport Marseille Provence, stands out due to a highly unusual corporate crossover.

The bold logo emblazoned across the tail fin belongs to the iconic Austrian gunsmith, world-renowned for its tactical handguns rather than its wings. The contrast between weapons manufacturing and the refined, luxury world of long-range business aviation is a striking anomaly on the aviation scene. Yet, this high-end charter subsidiary proudly flies the family brand, managing a stable descent with its gear pinned down against a cloudless Mediterranean backdrop.

The Armée de l'Air et de l'Espace's Rafale Solo Display is captured here performing its initial axis reconnaissance pass upon arrival at Base aérienne 709 Cognac-Châteaubernard.

This hard-banking turn beautifully showcases the RSD's striking display livery, featuring dynamic blue, white, and red flowing waves that wrap around the jet's delta wings. The deflection of the forward canard wings next to the cockpit is clearly visible, a key aerodynamic feature allowing the fly-by-wire system to maintain extreme control and agility during its low-level high-G routine.

This EGYPTAIR Airbus A321neo, arriving from Cairo, is captured from a striking low angle on final approach to Milan Airports Malpensa.

This tight view of the forward fuselage highlights the distinctive black "Zorro mask" framing the cockpit windows, a trademark aesthetic of Airbus's modern Neo family. On the extended nose gear door, the ETOPS placard is clearly legible alongside the aircraft's "FX" fleet code. This marking indicates the narrowbody's certification for extended-range operations, allowing it to safely fly direct routes over maritime or remote areas far from diversion fields.

The Πολεμική Αεροπορία - HAFspokesman's Lockheed Martin F-16 "Fighting Falcon" from the Hellenic F16 Demo Team rockets vertically into the sky over Base aérienne 709 Cognac-Châteaubernard.

Shot from a dramatic low-rear angle, the focus is entirely on the raw power of the engine, with the afterburner wide open and lighting up the inside of the exhaust nozzle in brilliant blue and orange flames.

This Singapore Airlines The Boeing Company 777-300ER, sporting the Star Alliance livery, is captured at the exact moment of liftoff from Zurich Airport.

This heavy departure perfectly showcases the mechanical behavior of the 777's main landing gear, with its massive six-wheel bogies tilting backward as they unlock from the ground, leaving the rear wheels hanging lower. Paired with high atmospheric humidity, the intense aerodynamic pressure drop over the wings instantly condenses the air into a massive, dramatic v***r sheet that wraps around the fuselage, visually framing the sheer power required to lift this giant into the overcast Swiss sky.

A General Atomics MQ-9 Reaper MALE UAV from the 1/33 "Belfort" Drone Squadron climbs out after takeoff from Base aérienne 709 Cognac-Châteaubernard.

This head-on view perfectly highlights the aircraft's tactical layout. The under-nose MTS-B sensor ball provides multi-spectral day/night surveillance, while the bulbous upper nose encloses the high-gain SATCOM antenna for satellite operations. At the rear, the pusher configuration engine leaves a sharp trail of heat haze, warping the green vineyards below.

A Ryanair The Boeing Company 737-800 captured in a powerful initial climb right after liftoff from Aeroport Marseille Provence.

The standout feature of this shot is the intense jet blast radiating from the engines. The thermal exhaust creates a massive pocket of heat haze directly behind the aircraft. This distorted air completely warps and liquefies the houses and the limestone ridge in the background, perfectly demonstrating the raw energy and thrust generated during takeoff.
