Thought I’d wrap up the sweet summer season with a collection of images from the most idyllic weekend retreat – the second home of interior designer Marko Vikman who gave us such a warm welcome 🥂 His beautiful home had me oohing and aahing at every turn ~ I hardly made it past the veranda… Thank you again dear M & M 🤍

When you discover a haven… Visiting Villa Pasimo yesterday, in the middle of rolling countryside, by a lake 🍇 The owners are doing up a wonderful old house and have just turned what was once a tractor shed into a café, with home-baked goods and the loveliest vibe. It’s surrounded by gardens to explore, complete with white ducks and fairytale scenes.

Important announcement to my dear customers ~ it’s with a heavy heart that I’ve had to pause EU orders outside Finland while I figure out how to best navigate the new PPWR requirements.

While the intention behind these rules is good in reducing packaging waste, it’s been so sad to witness how devastating their impact is on small businesses.

Poésie Privée is a true labour of love, and after years of fine-tuning it, I still have so many plans for the future ~ not giving up 🤍

Summer escapades closer to home ~ this villa once belonged to Aino Ackté in the early 1900s, the celebrated opera singer who lived and studied in Paris. It is now owned by the City of Helsinki and houses a summer café. Recently restored, I was impressed that it hasn’t been overdone ~ beautiful tones and textures throughout

Returning to Renoir’s Les Collettes nearly a decade later, I was so happy to find it still breathing that very same air ~ the crowds and noise of Nice a distant thought, the hazy summer heat beyond the shutters, wrapped in a quiet sense of nostalgia. More on Substack ✍🏼
