Kids at weddings are honestly some of my favorite little humans to photograph.
They’re wonderfully unpredictable: running around, getting bored during the ceremony, stealing snacks, falling asleep in someone’s arms, dancing like absolutely no one is watching.
But I’ve made a decision about how I share them.
Going forward, I won’t be posting photographs where children are clearly recognisable on my social media or other public platforms. They haven’t chosen to have their faces shared online, and I want to make my presence feel as safe as possible (for the parents at the weddings wondering where these images might end up at).
You’ll still see little hands, hugs, movement, silhouettes, backs of heads and all those beautifully chaotic kid moments. Just in a way that gives them a little more privacy.
They’ll still very much be part of the stories I photograph. Just not necessarily the stories I share publicly.
