Lysefjord is known for its scale.

From the water, I found myself looking closer instead — at fractures in the rock, dark surfaces, narrow passages of light and the traces left by water.

In black and white, the landscape becomes less about the view and more about structure, texture and time.

I never get tired of photographing butterflies.

Every encounter reminds me that nature doesn’t have to be spectacular to be meaningful. Sometimes the smallest moments stay with us the longest.

This Painted Lady (Tidselsommerfugl) rested for just a few seconds before continuing its journey.

Spending time with wildlife like this is also a reminder of why these places deserve our care. Protecting nature isn’t only about rare species or big landscapes. It’s also about making sure moments like this are still possible.

Photographed with the Canon EOS R5 Mark II and RF 100–400mm—a lightweight combination that lets me move quietly through nature.

The same landscape. Two ways of seeing it.

One from within. One from above.

The longer I photograph, the more interested I become in the relationships within the landscape - how wind shapes sand, how grasses hold the dunes together, how patterns emerge when we step back.

Maybe that’s what I look for in nature these days.

Not excitement.

Just enough stillness to notice what’s already there.

When I slow down, nature becomes less like a view and more like a living fabric.

Delicate.
Quiet.
Easy to overlook.
Impossible to replace.

The last days of May were filled with soft colours.

Mornings like these remind me why I photograph landscapes in the first place. Not to document a place, but to hold on to a feeling.

The mist, the quiet colours, the deer appearing for a moment and disappearing again.

Most of the time, the photograph begins long before I press the shutter. It starts with standing still. Watching. Waiting.

Later, some of these moments find their way onto a wall as a fine art print.

From nature to art.

Not to bring something new into a room, but to bring back a feeling that already exists out there in the landscape.

I wasn’t really sure if I could photograph birds.

So I went to Bulbjerg with a simple setup and just gave it a try.

No long plan. Just standing there for a while, watching them move along the cliffs and out over the sea. Waiting a bit. Missing a lot. Getting a few.

And that’s kind of the point.

It doesn’t have to be complicated.
This is just a Canon R8 and a 100–400mm. Light enough to carry without thinking about it.

Sometimes that’s what makes the difference.
You go. You stay a bit longer. You try.

When I really need to slow down, I come here and sit for a while, watching the horses from a distance.

There’s something about it. The way they move through the landscape. No rush, no noise. Just being there.

It makes things feel simpler than I often make them.

And after a while, I start to slow down too.

Maybe that’s all I needed.
