This Bracelet
For nearly five years,
this bracelet has traveled with me—
through ordinary mornings,
through seasons that quietly changed me.
It rests against my skin
like a familiar promise,
woven so deeply into my being,
that I only feel it when it is missing.
Some things are worn;
others become part of who we are.
This bracelet has woven itself
into the rhythm of my days,
holding fragments of memories,
moments, and versions of myself
that only time remembers.
And when it is absent,
I feel strangely unfinished—
as if a small piece of my story
has been left behind.
For after all these years,
it is no longer simply a bracelet;
it has become a part of me,
and without it, I feel bare.
