The second stop during my Lithuania trip was Kaunas, which is the second largest city of the country, as well.

In comparison with Vilnius, I would say they differ quite a bit. Vilnius is like a ready-made exhibition, whereas Kaunas is a scavenger hunt: you need to work your way through the city to get your reward.

I definitely left a piece of my heart in Vilnius 😍🇱🇹

After my Kraków series, I decided to grab the opportunity and dust off my Vilnius shots from last year.

The Lithuanian capital feels really cozy, as if I were home in Hungary, yet interesting enough to not be bored for a second. I discovered the city on 3 hours of sleep (early flights...), but there is so much to see here that it's difficult to stop once you get going. My instincts were not lying, as Vilnius has one of the largest medieval old towns in Europe!

Their history and fight for freedom is also fascinating. It was also my first trip to the Baltics and it was a really promising beginning.

Przemyśl was definitely a highlight of the trip.
While it appears to be further away from Kraków on paper, it is an easily doable day trip on train, and I am convinced it's well worth it. It shows a different side of Poland that you won't find in the big cities.

Przemyśl is a little bit of everything, in the best sense. 😍

Next up, let's head to the capital: Warsaw 🇵🇱🏙️

Warsaw is a city of contrasts. It has an old town that's completely restored after the damage of WWII, but what stands out to me is its modern district. It feels like a message that not only do we restore what we had, but we also move forward to the future.

Welcome to Kraków, the second largest city in Poland 🇵🇱

It is not my first time here: 10 years ago, around the time I joined Instagram, I visited the city. I didn't manage to see much of it beyond Wawel and Rynek, the main square, but I knew I would have to return one day.

Originally, I planned to take the train, but just out of curiosity, I checked flights (from Budapest), and they cost the same, even with extras! This way, I "won" an extra day, which I devoted to the (re)discovery of the old town.

Kraków is definitely the most touristy city in Poland, though it's still not affected by mass tourism on the same level as e.g. Prague. Also, Kraków has one of the largest main squares in Europe, so it absorbs crowds easily. :)
