A Nordhavn (Copenhagen) Wedding w/ J + S💍✨

Janina and Sebastian got married in Nordhavn, Copenhagen right by the water and the boats, with a lovely mix of Danish and international guests around them. The morning was pretty rainy, and if you are planning an outdoor ceremony in Copenhagen you will know that feeling of constantly checking the weather app 😅. But they had planned their ceremony for the late afternoon, which turned out to be the time when the rain stopped and the sky was clear 🌤️

The ceremony itself was short, open air, and genuinely joyful. Guests were cheering the couple, champagne was going around, and the whole atmosphere just felt relaxed and celebratory. Afterwards everyone settled in with snacks and drinks while we slipped away for the couple photoshoot along the harbour 🥂

Inside the venue, The Sea Level, the styling was so well done. Burgundy and white, minimal and muted, with every little detail feeling considered. Even the cake matched the whole theme, which I always love to see! If you are looking for a wedding venue in Copenhagen with a nautical feel and a really beautiful interior, this one is worth looking at ✨

It was such a pleasure being their wedding photographer for the day. Cheers to you both ❤️

Being a Secret Photographer for L + J at the Royal Library Garden, Copenhagen 💍✨ 
Lindsay and Jonah were in Copenhagen for just a couple of days as part of their Nordic cruise. Jonah had been sitting on this plan for a while, and Copenhagen was the city where he finally asked the question 🌸 
He picked the Royal Library Garden, Det Kongelige Biblioteks Have, on an early weekday morning in the middle of summer. At that hour the garden is so still and peaceful, and Lindsay had absolutely no idea I was there! Watching it all unfold naturally from a distance, capturing those completely genuine first moments, that is really what makes this kind of work so special to me 💍 
After the proposal the three of us spent the morning walking through the city together. Christiansborg Palace, Magstræde, and finishing at Gammel Strand. They were relaxed, happy, and very much enjoying Copenhagen as a newly engaged couple ✨
It was a real pleasure getting to know them both over those few hours.   Big hugs to the States! 🇺🇸❤️

Cinematic Engagement in Copenhagen w/ Wendy & Jeremy 💍✨

Wendy and Jeremy flew in from California for the Copenhagen Marathon — and if you have never been in the city on marathon weekend, it is something else. The streets are full, the energy is loud, the whole city gets behind it. These two ran the whole thing together, and at the finish line after 42 kilometres, Jeremy got down on one knee. Wendy said yes 💍

We met later that afternoon for their engagement session, and the city felt like a completely different place by then. Quieter, warmer, golden.

They wanted cinematic photos and had already thought about where to make that happen. Hidden Dimsum was their pick to start, and it was a great one. The restaurant kindly gave us the space to shoot, and that warm low interior light was everything 🎞️

From there we wandered through Magstræde, one of the oldest streets in Copenhagen. Cobblestones, colourful buildings, and quiet enough to actually take your time. Then on to Marble Bridge, where the late afternoon light settled over everything so beautifully.

You would never have guessed either of them had run 42 kilometres that morning ✨ Wishing you both so much happiness — thank you for such a wonderful afternoon ❤️

Copenhagen City Hall Wedding w/ Ellen & Donal 💍✨

One more Irish love story, and this one came with a full crowd 🖤

Ellen and Donal got married at Copenhagen City Hall earlier this year, and they did not come quietly. Over 45 guests made the trip — I am fairly convinced they took over the whole flight over 😄 There is something really lovely about a couple who wanted an intimate city hall ceremony but still managed to bring everyone they loved along for it.

After the ceremony we grabbed a few photos together before heading over to Frederiksberg, where the reception was waiting. We had a bit of time for just the two of them in Frederiksberg Gardens, plus some portraits with close family, bridesmaids and groomsmen. Cafe Svejk was the spot for the celebrations, and from what I could tell, it was a very fun afternoon 🥂

Shot on film and digital, which honestly suits a wedding like this so well!

Wedding in Helsingør w/ Effi & Craig 💍✨

These two! I have been looking forward to sharing this wedding story in Helsingør!🖤

Effi and Craig travelled all the way from Ireland for their wedding — just the two of them, an intimate celebration away from the big family gatherings back home. From the moment we met, the energy between them was so warm and easy. As a photographer, that is always something that stays with me — watching two people be completely themselves in front of a total stranger 🥹

I also have to mention their outfits. It was so them! The kind of choices that tell you a lot about a couple before they even say a word. And the matching tattoos as a symbol of their union — such a personal touch that I absolutely loved 🖤

After the ceremony at Helsingør Town Hall we walked through the town, which was so quiet that afternoon. Just the three of us, taking our time. The day ended with Kronborg Castle right in front of us, which felt like a pretty special way to finish 🏰✨

A Secret Engagement at the Royal Library Garden w/ Abbie & Jeff 💍✨

Not many people know about this one, but the Royal Library Garden — Det Kongelige Biblioteks Have — is honestly one of Copenhagen’s best kept secrets for a proposal 🖤

Jeff asked me to pick up sunflowers on the way — Abbie’s favourite flower — to surprise her after the proposal. That little detail said a lot about him. Abbie had absolutely no idea what was coming, and when he got down on one knee surrounded by all that late season colour and handed her the sunflowers straight after, it was a really lovely moment 🌻

The Royal Library Garden in early autumn is such a gem. Tucked away from the busy parts of the city, full of colour, and so quietly beautiful. If you are thinking about proposing in Copenhagen, keep this one in mind 💍

A Secret Proposal in King’s Garden w/ Matěj & Vladěnka 💍✨

If you are thinking about proposing in Copenhagen, King’s Garden might just be the perfect spot for it 🖤

Matěj got in touch a little while before their trip from Czechia. He wanted to propose to Vladěnka during their visit to Copenhagen, and the one thing he kept saying was that she could not suspect anything. So we planned it together, picked the rose garden as the spot, and waited for the right moment while the rest of the park carried on around them.

She had absolutely no idea! 😉Honestly, that moment when it all clicks for someone — when they realise what is actually happening — that is the part I will never get tired of. After the proposal we just wandered around the park together, talked about their trip, their plans, life. It was one of those evenings that feels easy and warm and a little bit magic ✨

An Aarhus Elopement w/ G + A 💍✨

I’ve been sitting on this one for a little while, and today feels like the perfect moment to share it. (Almost!) Happy anniversary, G + A 🖤

Gaby and Andrew didn’t pick Aarhus at random for their wedding. They studied here, met their people here, and came back to make it official. Their ceremony at Aarhus City Hall was quiet and intimate, with just their closest university friends by their side 🌿
After that, we spent the afternoon walking through the city they knew so well. Møllestien, Aarhus Cathedral, the old town, and out to the harbour. The kind of walk where nobody checks the time.

Our photowalk ended at their favourite shawarma spot in Aarhus — their words, not mine 🥙. And I think that says everything about the kind of couple they are.

This is what the couple shared with me afterwards:
“We loved working with Ieva. I’m not very comfortable in front of a camera, and wasn’t even sure I wanted a photographer, but she made it very natural and easy. The photos are gorgeous. Definitely ask for film, they are our favourites. I never post reviews but this is how much we appreciated her.”

Secret engagement photoshoot in Copenhagen 💍✨

Most couples get engaged, then get married… Clara & Tony did the opposite 🤍Already married, but not yet engaged. So one Friday in Copenhagen, Tony decided it was time to change that. He surprised Clara with a full engagement shoot, and she had no idea 😄

And these two… honestly such a vibe! ✨ From the first frame, they were completely themselves — and so natural in front of the camera. Opera Park fit them perfectly 🌿 Soft light, open space, and nothing felt staged.

Small Copenhagen City Hall Wedding / w Heidi + Grant 🌸

10 years together, and they chose their anniversary to finally make it official.

Small guest list. City Hall gardens. A glass of champagne. That was the whole plan, and it was perfect.

They mentioned before we started that they were both camera shy, and that they’d never had a proper photo taken together in a decade apart from selfies.
You’d never know it by the end of the afternoon!

10 år sammen, og de valgte deres årsdag til endelig at gøre det officielt.

Lille gæsteliste. Rådhavens have. Et glas champagne. Det var hele planen, og den var perfekt.

De nævnte inden vi gik i gang, at de begge var meget kamerasky, og at de aldrig havde fået taget et ordentligt billede sammen i løbet af ti år. Kun selfies.

Det kunne man slet ikke mærke inden dagen var omme.
