Friend group sessions are always a yes in my book.

Memphis, Peyton, and Ava looked absolutely stunning in their prom dresses at Schloss Solitude.

The location, the dresses, the friendship, the confidence: everything came together so beautifully.

Prom is one of those milestones that deserves to be remembered in a way that feels elevated, personal, and true to this chapter of their lives.

And honestly? These three made it look effortless.

A conversation this morning had me reflecting on this.

Even if you don’t feel like it right now.
Even if it doesn’t feel like a big deal right now.

One day, these are the moments you’ll be glad you had documented.

Existing in photos with the people we love is one of the most meaningful gifts we can give our future selves.

What I keep hearing, over and over, from parents is that they want photos that truly represent their seniors.

Not just pretty pictures.
Not just a unique location.
But images that highlight who they are at this point in time.

There are so many ways to create completely different looks for each senior, and this is why planning is such an integral part of every senior portrait session.

Ben’s senior portraits are split into three segments: basketball, cap & gown, and a family session.

We planned Ben’s first session around his love for basketball. His genuine smiles and the way his face lit up? That was Ben in his element, and we documented it in a place that holds so many memories for him and his family: inside his high school.

Afterward, we met up in my beautiful German village, adding a distinctly German backdrop to a gallery that reflects this unique chapter of life overseas.

We wrapped up Ben's family portraits earlier this week, on what felt like the coldest day of spring, and I cannot wait to show off those images in a separate post.

PS: Class of ’26 parents, I do have summer availability for graduation sessions before your soon-to-be-grads begin their next chapter. Please know: it is actually completely normal this time of year for me to hear from families who have decided that, yes, they really do want to schedule a portrait session after all.

Some seasons are meant to be remembered in full bloom.

When Serenity told me during our planning session that she loved images of seniors in fields of flowers, my question to her was, “If we were to break your session down by percentage, what percent would you want to be nature?”

“90 percent,” she told me.

Because I know the route between Herrenberg and Bebenhausen like the back of my hand, I knew exactly what was blooming and where. We planned Serenity’s session in a way that allowed us to hop from one stunning location to the next, creating the kind of experience and images she had envisioned.

90% nature.
10% architecture, just enough to give a nod to her time here in Germany.

Scouting locations and knowing where and when to go is an integral part of the professional portrait photography experience. I help guide my seniors and their parents toward locations that feel right for them, their personalities, and the chapter they are documenting.

Class of 2027: it is almost your turn. Parents of rising seniors: now is the time to reach out if you have your heart set on a weekend session in September or October. November is now fully booked for full length and extended portrait sessions. ❤️

I met Maddie and her family many years ago, and I am so honored that I got to document this Stuttgart chapter for them before Maddie heads off to college in Japan this fall.

Senior parents, I know this season is busy, emotional, and chaotic. Somehow everything feels like it’s happening at warp speed while your to-do list has its own to-do list.

Document these moments anyway. In any way you can.

Stand next to your senior. Hug them. Laugh with them. Exist in photos with them.

What we don’t acknowledge nearly often enough is that years from now, your children will look back and cherish these photos of YOU.

They will want to see the parent who drove them to practices, proofread the essays, packed the lunches, sat through the late nights, cheered from the sidelines, cried in the car, and loved them through every version of becoming.

From one parent to another? Step out from behind the scenes and into the frame. Be part of your children's treasured collection of photos. ❤️

This chapter deserves to be remembered.

Senior portraits aren't just about creating beautiful photos; it's also about documenting these moments, this version of you, before everything changes.

Seniors: your stories matter. Let's create images that feel like you.

Not just a goodbye to childhood. A hello to becoming.

Brooke's dream is to become a combat medic, and her mom requested that her walk away shot reflects this.

The location: a place that holds countless memories.
The walk-away shot: a quiet homage to Brooke’s decision to enlist in the Army.
The result: exactly what we had envisioned.

Brooke’s gallery is massive, but today? Today is about this iconic image, one that honors the person she is becoming and the future she is building toward.

Beautiful Maastricht was love at first sight.

A group of American families were looking for a senior session experience to remember this chapter and reached out to see if I would be interested in spending a weekend in the Netherlands.

Of course, I said yes to this work-cation weekend, offering a limited number of destination senior portrait sessions.

Delicious food, gorgeous images, and a weekend date with my husband? Absolutely!

Here is a quick Behind-the-scenes from Logan's session.

Where to next??
