"Memories"

One of the main reasons I take photos is to capture memories. On my photo tours, I also aim to create and capture unforgettable memories for my guests.

Like here at the world’s largest salt flat, the Salar de Uyuni. During the night, we took what was probably one of the coolest group photos ever. The arch of the Milky Way above our heads was reflected in the salt flat. Unbelievable!

It was a pleasure to photograph the Northern Lights on you Reynisfjara beach, Goodbye :(

Reynisfjara beach or black sand beach is gone :( This photos shows the long, open stretch of black sand that reached all the way to the basalt columns under amazing northern lights. Now the forced of nature reshaped the beach and it’s underwater. I am looking forward to the new shape.

This Panorama shows the incredible Night Sky over the Okonjima Nature Reserve in Namibia. I always wanted to photograph a typical African camel thorn tree at night, and on my last trip to Namibia, I finally got the chance. Late at night, shortly before sunrise, the Milky Way flipped in the right direction. The photo also shows a termite mound and myself with a lamp to illuminate the scene. Above it all is the Milky Way. An additional infrared-modified camera and a dual narrowband filter reveal even more details in the night sky.

Sometimes there are special days when the Northern Lights are visible even in Germany. Yesterday was one of those special days, and maybe we'll have another chance today! I'll keep my fingers crossed that you'll be able to capture more amazing moments.

In 2025, I only had time to look at about 10 percent of the photos I took. But thats not important. This year, I learned that beautiful photos and professional success aren't what really matter. Being healthy and spending as much time as possible with my family are the important things in life.
