The Spitzkoppe area is one of my favorite areas in Namibia. I love spending time at the "Matterhorn" of Namibia and inside the rock arch not far away.

It's unusual to see clouds in the Namib-Naukluft Desert. Time to unpack the wide-angle lens to capture the famous trees of the Deadvlei along with the cloud formations.

As night falls over the Garub House in Namibia, the desert becomes calm and peaceful. The silence is broken only by the gentle breeze and what feels like a million trucks driving by! Above, the sky comes alive with countless stars, shining brightly in the clear desert air. The house stands beneath the Milky Way, offering a perfect place to experience the magic of the Namib Desert at night. The area is known for its exceptionally dark skies, making it an unforgettable destination for stargazing.

For around 10 years, the Quiver Tree Forest in Namibia has been one of my favorite places to teach astrophotography. Here’s a panorama of Namibia’s incredible night sky that we took together during a panorama session.

"Triple Arch"

It’s rare to get lucky at Fanal Forest on Madeira that you are not surrounded by fog. When it happens, you’re rewarded with an impressive night sky and can creatively capture the abstract shapes of the laurel trees in a photo. Here the Milky Way bow over a curved tree where I’m standing, and I “paint” another arc. Triple Arch
