One photograph. Five slides. And a tiny world that keeps getting bigger. 🔍

Start with the full scene, then swipe closer… and closer again.

What looks almost invisible at first slowly reveals textures and details the naked eye would never notice.

That’s exactly why I love macro photography: the smaller the subject, the more there is to discover.

Which do you prefer—the full scene or the extreme close-up?

Earlier today I showed you a 30-shot focus stack of this spider in a reel, but I didn’t mention that I actually got a little more out of this model. 🕷️

I was even close to getting a third shot, but by then it was starting to feel a little uncomfortable in front of the camera and wasn’t quite as cooperative for the rest of the session. 😅

So for now, these two made the cut.

One focus stack.
A few minutes in Helicon Focus…
and suddenly every tiny detail is right where it should be. 🕷️🔥

That’s the magic of focus stacking.
Worth the effort? I think so. 😏

The mornings are getting colder. 🍂

And suddenly, finding these tiny subjects takes a little more patience.

This one was almost motionless, covered in tiny drops — one of those quiet reminders that macro season is slowly changing.

Maybe that’s not such a bad thing though.
Every season brings a different kind of tiny world to discover.

Remember this little guy? 🐛

A few weeks ago, I photographed this caterpillar without knowing how long I’d actually get to keep watching its story.

And now… this is what it has become.

Same tiny creature. Completely different chapter.

I still find it fascinating how something so soft, green and full of movement can turn into something that looks almost sculpted — dark, still and completely mysterious.

I love how completely different these tiny creatures can look when you change the perspective.

The first frame is probably how most of us imagine a ladybug.

The second one… not so much. 😂
