It's very unfortunate that we have two more photoshoots scheduled for the next time, so let's see how long we can try to keep up the good mood until our next encounter.

After watching Death Note together Leonie felt the need to get some pictures together in her cosplay, so I will probably not watch anything with her again 🤝🏻🤝🏻🤝🏻

How we created the final Artillery Witch shot 💣🔥

Sometimes one photo just isn’t enough.

For this one, we shot the main pose first, then photographed the bomb separately and even took an additional shot just to get an accurate scale reference.

After that, it was time to bring everything together in Photoshop and turn the individual shots into the final image.

Lighting this cosplay was especially fun: the NANLITE FC-120C with the Rapid 60 gave me the key light I needed for the mask, while the two PavoTube II 30Cs created those colorful reflections and separation on the shiny armor — even while shooting in daylight.

Definitely a setup I’m going to experiment with a lot more. 👀

Artillery Witch. 💣🔥

When Frostylva told me she was bringing her Artillery Witch from Trench Crusade to Germany, we knew we had to give this cosplay another proper shoot.

We already shot it briefly at DoKomi, but since she came all the way from Norway for a full shooting weekend, this was the perfect opportunity to really give this cosplay the shoot it deserved.

And it was also the perfect chance to put my new Nanlite Global setup to work!

The two PavoTube II 30C were perfect for creating colorful reflections on the shiny armor, adding some really nice separation and atmosphere — and I was genuinely impressed by how much light they still delivered even when shooting in sunlight.

For the key light, I used the FC-120C with the Rapid 60 to bring out the details of that massive mask and give the whole character a much stronger presence in the scene.

Really happy with how this setup worked for this kind of cosplay — and definitely excited to experiment with it a lot more. 👀

I just love jumping poses XD

Still can't thank enough for actually creating the cosplay after suggesting it to her🫶🏼♥️

New toys to play with. 👀💡

Just unpacked my new lighting setup from and I already have way too many ideas for upcoming shoots.

The FC-120C, two PavoTube II 30C, the Rapid 60 softbox and the Power Bank Grip — basically a super compact RGB setup that I can take on location and use without being tied to a power outlet.

And being able to control the lights through the NANLINK app should make things even easier when they’re positioned somewhere I can’t reach them quickly.

Now comes the fun part: actually shooting with all of it. 😄

What would YOU create with this setup? Any characters, concepts or crazy lighting ideas that immediately come to mind? Drop them in the comments — I might actually try some of them!
