Sometimes, back in the day, we didn’t realize how good some cars really were. The RS5 is one of them for me. 🙂‍↕️

Back in 2010, Audi introduced the RS5 as the top model of the A5, alongside with the RS4 as the performance flagship of the B8 generation. A generation of cars that, looking back, had a great and recognizable design language.

Audi design back then was clean and confident. With the RS5, Audi turned that formula into a powerful and beautiful coupe. And later, a convertible.

Under the hood is the 4.2 naturally aspirated V8, shared with the B8 RS4, producing 450 hp and revving all the way to 8,250 rpm. Power went through Audi’s 7-speed DSG and quattro system.

I’ll be honest with you. I was never a big fan of that gearbox. I’d still choose a manual, just like in its predecessor, the B7 RS4. But driving the RS5 with the top down… I have to admit, the DSG actually suits the character of the car surprisingly well.

The RS5 Convertible isn’t really about being the sharpest sports car. It’s a big, powerful and comfortable open-top Gran Turismo, with room for four, a screaming V8 and the option to enjoy it with the roof up or down. And this works so damn good.

What I love most about the first gen RS5 is the design. The wide shoulders, the aggressive face or the round exhaust tips.

And then there are the aluminium details. The classic Audi Singleframe, the window surrounds or those iconic aluminium mirror caps. To me, these details are a big part of what made Audi design from the 2000s and 2010s so special. Before everything started to be blacked out.

Auch ohne Fahrzeugplatz im Event könnt ihr beim .ch dabei sein und das Event hautnah erleben. In unmittelbarer Nähe gibt es kostenlose Besucherparkplätze. Einfach den Anweisungen der Verkehrskadetten folgen, parkieren und in wenigen Minuten mitten im Geschehen sein.

Even without a parking spot at the event, you can still join .ch and experience the event up close. There’s free visitor parking right nearby. Just follow the traffic cadets’ instructions, park, and you’ll be right in the thick of the action in just a few minutes.

Another day, another picdump of 's M5 Classic Grand Alpine Tour with the M5 E39 Owners Club 😮‍💨

Is there anything better than a BMW M5? Well, how about 30 classic BMW M5s driving through the Alps? ⛰️

I was invited by the organizer of the M5 Classic Alpine Tour to join the M5 E39 Owners Club and photograph some Swiss sections of their one-week long tour.

And honestly, this was a bit of a dream come true for me. The E39 M5 holds a very special place in my heart. It’s one of my all-time dream cars. Ever since I fell in love with it while playing Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit 2 as a kid. So when asked me to shoot a whole convoy of these cars, there was really only one answer: Hell YES! 🤩

After driving across some of Switzerland’s most famous mountain passes, the tour continued with a day of drifting with GRIP&DRIFT at the DrivingGraubünden in Cazis. I even got the chance to take the wheel of E30 SWISS | classic BMW FANATIC ’ Alpina and ’s E39 M5.

Thanks again, that was an absolute blast! What a sidequest! 📸
