“We love your work and want to hire you, but can you keep our gallery private? We’re private people.”

Literally yes. Every time. Your wedding isn’t an advertising opportunity for us, it’s a privilege and an honour to capture. We have so many opportunities to work with clients who are more than comfortable sharing their faces online, we will never pressure you to, up-charge you if you don’t want to (yes some photographers have lost the plot and actually do that!) - because consent is a fundamental part of our photography practice.

At every wedding, we do our best to capture the presence of the people there. The people who get dressed, show up and show out for you. At some weddings, there’s another presence. The presence of the people who can’t be there. Those ways that our clients choose to honour the people who they desperately wish could be at their wedding, they aren’t just a side thing to throw into a gallery. They’re the lilt in the voices, the quiet moments of reflection, and add a beautiful punctuation to the prose of the day.

As the folks charged with capturing all of this in a visual memory, know that we take deep pride and honour in ensuring the presence of the people who cannot be there is felt just as heavily in our galleries as it is in your heart. We aren’t there to just see your wedding, we’re there to feel it, and do our best to put those feelings into still captures. 💜
