Canvassing the Neighbourhood Photography

Canvassing the Neighbourhood Photography Sharing photos from our travels. Canvassing the Neighbourhood Photography’s focus is capturing the Province of Newfoundland and Labrador. Enjoy!

We are two friends, one male, one female, using two different sides of our brains, with two different perspectives. Our goal is to capture the beauty of our Province. Our aim is to provide an opportunity for people to see what we see when we take our pictures. Life is too short to keep all this beauty to ourselves. If you like our photos and would like to make them your artwork we would be thrilled.

The Maid of Industry is a fascinating piece of St. John's history. The statue stands in front of the Newfoundland Railway Coastal Museum. It was created in 1901, carved from the sandstone salvaged from the Anglican Cathedral after the Great Fire of 1892. The statue is modelled after a domestic worker, F***y Quinlan, who worked for the stonemason, Charlie Henderson. It's a tribute to the workers and industry of the Newfoundland Railway.

Watching the Under-14 AA girls from Corner Brook and Paradise battle it out under the lights last night made for a great evening of baseball. One Paradise player stole the show with an out-of-the-park home run, sending the ball soaring over the fence and the crowd cheering!
